There is nothing saying to you have to do anything. There are many ways to raise goats or animals (or kids). It is totally your prerogative. You just have to live with the consequences, unfortunately, goats are prey animals and they don't show sickness until they need a priest not a vet, you just really have to be on top of things. Really, for the most part, giving vac's and having a good worming schedule (we always do fecals first), is the EASY way to go because you can prevent so much. I just don't want my animal to go down with Tetanus and have to hear them scream and may or may not live when I could have just given them 2cc's of a vaccine (same with Entertoxemia, they die SO fast with Enter., and it's the same shot has Tetnus, same 2cc's). I guess it is a very easy decision for me. I also give Bo-Se.
Fiasco Farms website has a lot about natural goat care. Kat here in Oregon also carries a line of natural goat care products (Fir Meadow, I couldn't find her website to order from but she does have a line of products). Good luck with your decision.
