I have had nigerians, lamanchas, one oberhasli, and now an alpine.

I found the niggies to be very loud but they were also really sweet. Best. Milk. Ever.

I love my Lamanchas, they are really sweet, good on the milkstand, and have some great milk too. Nice and creamy.

I also love my Alpine just because she is a HUGE producer. She is giving us a little over a gallon a day and she's been fresh for two months. We also are going to look at another Alpine whose peak averaged 2 gallons a day. They are a little pushy, but have beautiful colorings and they are quiet. Our one doe loves to lick. That's right, lick me. Just like a dog. She's very affectionate.

I just love goats Period.

Gosh I feel bad there are no votes for Toggs, out of those choices they would be my second pick. They are a great breed but get Americans instead of Purebreds. They are beautiful, productive and quiet natured.

I raise Saanens and Guernseys, and love these breeds. I used to have a few Nubians, but eventually sold them. My Nubians were extremely difficult to train to stand while milked. They would kick the bucket for the first several months of being milked. My Saanens and Guernseys will stand to be milked from day 1. They are much quieter than Nubians, and generally easier to deal with. The Saanens produce a high volume of milk while the Guernseys produce rich milk. Although Saanens are reputed to have lower components than some other breeds, I have good fat and protein percentages with my Saanens.

they are my 2nd most favorite as well. I like their spunky, fun demeanor. The only thing that makes them 2nd is that the standard colors "bore me". I love variety.
