We don't keep them in that pen, that was just a temporary setup for our "baby goat party." We have one every year; everyone comes over for beers and baby goat lovin'. Here are some more photos:

This one is Sunny, my favorite doeling:

Aww too cute! Congrats!

My polled doe had twins with heads like that....couldn't really tell even after I shaved their heads...at 4 days old one doeling started to get lil points under the skin, but the other one had rounded bumps...like a squished marble. Their mom is "giraffe polled" so I think that doe kid with the squished marble bumps may have been too....

I disbudded both....it was my 1st time to do it and I didn't want to wait any longer than a week old, nor did I want to wait and see if the marble head doe would get points later and possibly have a hard time getting her disbudded properly doing it on my own with no expirence.

I kept the marble head doe... IF she was polled I guess I'll find out later on if she ever throws polled kids If she wasn't polled, at least she doesn't have horns now

My first polled doe got her head burned, too. I just didn't know any better. She'd actually kidded a few times before I looked at one of her new kids for the first time and said, Polled!, where did that come from?! It gets easier to recognize the more times you see it. But I promise, if the hair is straight, no swirls, it is polled.

The horned twin I had was swirl free before shaving her head looked like her sister's.. I originally thought I had two polled girls, but the one doe had very prominent points, and was without a doubt horned....

I think Audra had a lil la mancha buck born who also did not have swirls but was horned too..... lol So I gave up on guessing/wondering/waiting and just disbudded everyone

*If* I get anything out of my doeling that's polled, then I'll know for sure......otherwise, I'll never know lol

Very nice looking kids! And I can't believe how green everything looks there! It seems like winter has been going on here forever. It has been so long since I have seen any green grass!

I think that may have something to do with our respective geographical locations. I'm in CA, and it's only this green during spring and fall. During summer, it's so hot and dry that everything dies.

What part of ND are you from, Prairie? DH grew up there.
