Lol! We make a straw igloo for them to snuggle in no electric in the barn. I told my son remember don't give the does their hay until 5pm the other week, as we are careful with that around kidding season. and he did a "whoops" what I said, "I already hayed them" Oh lord... Of course she kidded at near 1 am in the morning. We feed the older girls at 5 pm, and the ff who take longer to kid in the morning this works really well for us, we usually have kids born from 2 pm - 8 pm. Well when we keep to the scedule : )

We kid in Feb & this yr a few in March. The barn is not airtight but not drafty where any kids are. They have a box to snuggle in & always find it.
Deep bedding.
The only time we've used heat lamps is when we as humans need it:happy0035: & put it back when we're done.
Those cheap totes are great but kids do mangle them when they get to jumping around.
As for feeding times re:kidding? We feed grain twice a day & the norm has been kidding between 9am & 1pm.
This yr two kidded at 10pm go figger.
