LaMancha . LaaMaannnchaa.

I have Saanen, Nigerian Dwarf, LaMancha and minis. PB LaMancha - all the way - my favorite and always have been. However, all goats are awsome!

I always find it funny that the tiny ears throw people off. People think otters, seals, beavers, and minks are adorable and pretty and they have tiny ears that are close the head.

It throws people off because it's not what you expect. Scottish Fold cats don't look quite right to me. Dogs got into my pig pen and the only thing they could get was her ears so now she's earless... She doesn't look right!

Love my Nubians :-)

Well, I have Saanens that are the sweetest, most loving creatures, and they always have a smile on their faces. But the only 2nd freshener I have has been fresh for 3 weeks, and I'm really not seeing much udder on her. She is feeding twins, and I do plan to milk her eventually.
A friend loaned me her LaMancha one year tp learn to milk. Now That girl had an udder! 5 quarts. My LaManchas will be first fresheners this year. SO, heck I don't know. I like them all!

Oh, the poll was added. Thanks Angie! I'd forgotten to add it. I voted for Oberhaslis, though it was a toss-up between them and the LaManchas. I pretty well like all of them, except the Nubians.

LaManchas don't need big floppy ears to be beautiful. Besides, while Nubian are growing ears, LaManchas are growing brains.

Nigerian Dwarf DAIRY goats were not on the list so I couldn't vote.

Nothing like a little discrimination against the smallest dairy breed eh?

Have loved Nubians since I was a little girl. I think they'll always be my favorite. But I am interested in adding in some ND girls for the awwwww factor and the year round cycling and high butterfat. So I will protest the lack of ND choice in the poll as well.

Obies are my second favorite. Still sweet - just not quite as much charisma!

For the sake of the neighborhood and me, I chose a breed know for being quiet. My two milkers are 3/4 LaMancha and 1/4 Oberhasli. My one doe has been milking for 20 mos. straight on extended lactation and is around 6 lbs. a day of milk, goes down to 4 lbs. when in heat this winter. I am looking forward to her spring increase as to how much she will produce. LaManchas are known for doing well at long lactations. I also have 3 of their Mini LaMancha daughters also.

I forgot about them, but they are, after all, technically a colored Saanen.

I posted a new poll with all of the breeds and multiple choices for those that have more than one favorite breed.
