I know! It's awful! My neighbor says there must be something in the water.....she raises Black Angus and all her calves born were bull calves with the exception on one heifer calf that she's bottle raising because the mom rejected her..

So I'm just going to assume Sabrina will give me bucks, and hopefully have homes lined up for them before they hit the ground and if I get does, I'll just be pleasantly surprised

I don't bother advertising before kids are on the ground. Most people who absolutely are sure they want one today will not be interested if you call them back in a month.

A big AMEN to that! I've seen this with my dairy heifers in the past. I've got a list of several people to call if a heifer hits the ground months from now but I can only count on about a third of those being interested when she gets here.

Well for me, I'd rather put a few ads out prior and see what sort of response I get. Sure, at least 1/2 who say they want one will change their minds, but I'd rather have a few people to call prior, than scramble trying to get rid of them after they're born.

And what am I out? A few minutes time to post a free online ad. After theyre born, I'll repost the ad with pictures. No biggy Ive done this with baby rabbits, and barn kittens before and had great luck getting rid of them quickly.

Plus hubby is certain that if I have potential homes lined up for all bucks, then Sabrina will have all does

I paid $75 for a bottle baby buck who was 12 weeks old. And drove 2 hours there and back to pick him up.

I am still very happy with that I did.
