What is it with goats?? Horses come out wet. Puppies and kittens come out wet. Calves come out wet. Human babies come out wet. Goats come out in a rubbery, gelatinous ectoplasm from some other dimension that sticks to everything it flings itself on to! Do sheep have goo too? Do goats just need the extra cushoining?

went back out to check on her, and nothing was there, so who knows how long that has been going on, i guess sometimes you catch it and sometimes you dont. Then I watched my 7 month old GP lick Zoes butt! I am like great I guess I will never see any goo, then dog keeps the goat clean!

We have had both goats and sheep, didn't notice alot of difference. The goats are so much better moms then sheep. Looks like you well have babies in e few days. I swear it seems like the more you watch the longer it takes. We have had around 50-60 babies born here and most are from 2a.m. to 6 a.m.

Okay - I am not going to post the pics of the west end of my east facing doe - these pics have answered my question. Looks like maybe we are a couple weeks out, anyway! Thanks, all!

Great pics on feeling for the ligaments, Yarrow! That helps so much! I knew last year when it happened but was worried I would miss it this year since I can't remember last year much - kind of a blur from too many nights of checking every couple hours!
