It's a girl!!! Meet Christmas Carol! (Named by DS 13). The LGD wouldn't let mom near the baby! I heard him barking and went out to check, and there she was!! I'll have to put the LGD in a different pen before the next two kid.

Awesome baby!

Doelings are always a plus.

Nothing here yet.

Hubby stayed home on goat watch so I could go to my mom's b-day party.

Bless!

I'd try really hard to be there for the next birth to teach the dog it's OK for the Mom to be near the babies.

Congratulations!

That's what I intend to do. The other's look like they could go at any minute. I've got his collar charged and will put it on him when I milk mom this morning, then turn it on at the first sign of goop on the next doe. It seems to be the only thing that really gets his attention. This is his second kidding. Last year, he was in a different pen at kidding time, with the buck.

Christmas Carol won't fit with my farm name on registration. So, it's going to change to Precious Memory Farm Christmas Snow

Too cute! Congrats.

My LGD learned at 4 months old to stay away from does kidding as he was badly beaten by one Mine can get pretty mean toward interlopers during kidding. I still remember a cat walking by, not interested in the kidding just going from point A to point B and the stupid doe had a kid half hanging out but she got up anyway to chase the cat trying to butt him. Funny now but she annoyed me since I was running behind her make sure the kid did not fly out and hit the ground.

What a beautiful, sturdy-looking baby! Thanks for the photo. Now, I'm jealous and wish mine would get with the program.

Love the name.......Yes, goat lovers are in a class all to themselves...loving, caring, and excitable ! Once upon a time we had Christmas babies too, Noel and Ho Ho.
