3 breeds.

We have Nubians, Pygmies and a Nigerian Dwarf buck.
I breed the Pygmies and Nigerians to the Nubians for
Kinders and Minis, but I sell the kids - don't retain any.

I personally find large breed crosses impossible to sell.

I also have only one breed now. I have LaManchas, but I have had Mini Manchas, Saanens, Pygmys, Nigerians, and a boer cross in the past.

We have mainly Nubians and Nigerians, but also have 1 Alpine, 1 Alpine/Oberhasli, 1 Boer/Nubian, and 1 what we think is a Kinder. My daughters have Saanens and we also have 1 Lamancha buckling that was given to us.

We have Nubian/Boer crosses, Nubians, and Nubian/Saanen crosses. We don't sell many babies so haven't had that issue come up. All boys go to the freezer and the girls are usually kept although I have sold a few and it has not been an issue. Blessings, Kat

In the past, we have raised Alpines, too.

I haven't sold any baby goats. We just keep adding on to the pens.

I just can't imagine counting that high if I kept all the kids born here too!

How many goats do you actually have now, counting all the breeds together?

Seems all I am seeing mostly (almost all) dairy. Does anyone raise mostly meat goats? DW really likes the goats, but I haven't seen much of a market for dairy goats here, so I was thinking about getting into meat (boer, fainting) since you can't make much off pygmies which is what we have.

Curtis we have Boers here with the exception of one purebred Nubian & her % offspring.
Everyone gets bred by a Boer.

My main focus is my Nubian stock (such as it is: One doe in milk, probably pregnant; will be sending her amor to freezer camp as soon as I know she's settled).

I do have a Snubian who kidded three weeks ago, so I also have those kids: 2 doelings, 1 buckling, all 3/4 Nubian, 1/4 Saanen.

Then there is little Clark, our Pygmy wether. He's there for entertainment and company for whoever is not allowed in the "big goat" area.

We had 3 does, sold 1, now have 2 does and kept a doeling. Milking 1 right now, bred back. Other is dry to kid in Jan. Just bred the doeling. They are white pygora, neighbors have them so it makes it easy for me. I give a doeling for breeding. Had 8 kids this year, we eat the wethers (3) and sell the doelings. No problem. I seperate the kids at night, milk once a day while they are nursing. Put them together after milking and they get the rest until seperated that night. Now that I have 1 milking and none nursing I milk her 2 times a day. We have them for fiber too, wife loves the yarn for knitting and white works well for dying the color she wants. It is never enough but friends give her theirs when I shear theirs for them. Milk for me, fiber for Sweetie, and because they are so sweet....James

We have only registered Nigerian Dwarf goats and are heavily invested in does and bucks out of breed production leaders.

We have two VERY spoiled pygmies. Dreaming of pygoras, some Nigerians and perhaps some feinters when we get our next property.
