If your Tractor Supply carries Standlee products they should be able to order it for you. Ours carries the pellets, but ordered the shreds as well for some who requested it.

I used to feed it years ago for my old gelding who was a hard keeper. Worked great

Our TSC sells it for $6.99 for 40lb bags.

Best Wishes,
Crystal

So, are pellets or shredded better? I'd like to add this to my goats diet but I've only seen the pelleted form available at our TSC. Should I request them order the shredded type or just go with pellets?

Sorry for all the questions and I hope I'm not the thread......

Thanks!!!!

All I have ever fed are the shreds. I don't really think it would make too much of a difference either way, other than the pellets might be a bit dusty. Hopefully, someone else will have more experience with the pellets. Blessings, Kat

Now are you looking for the beet pulp in the feed bag area's? It comes in a 50# bag. I know a few of my 4H kds were looking for it but did not realize it came in that big of a bag.

I will only buy the shredded beet pulp, it soaks a lot faster. My goats love it.

How long will beet pulp stay good in storage? I have some left over from the sheep I sold about 3 years ago. It has been in a plastic tote and looks and smells the same as it did then. Is it still safe to use?

So... more dumb questions....

The shredded beet pulp needs to be soaked in order for the goats to eat it? Do the pellets need to be soaked as well? OR, will the goats just eat them in pellet form?

I know many haven't had luck with their goats eating the alfalfa pellets but my :1pig:-ish goats suck-down anything that resembles some form of feed. I don't think they'd turn their noses up to the BPulp....

My goats didn't like the beet pulp pellets but they love the shreds and no, you don't need to soak it first.

They all should be soaked, but do not have to be. I know people feed the shredds dry buy I am not sure about the pellets. If the shredds are fed wet it takes them longer to soak up all the water.
