Rough draft of my letter to the Attorney General. Edited and modified copies will also go to the Springfield newspaper and the Milk Board.
http://quirkygoatfarm.blogspot.com/2...board-and.html
Please note, I get *really formal* in my language when miffed.
The blog formatting messed up my block quotes. It looks better in standard business letter format.

I'd also urge him to set up a road block at their front gates to not allow entrance to anyone who denies them their rights.
Since the Interstate Commerce laws are the most abused in the nation, this can be a test case for the little guy. And why are Mt. Sterling's raw milk cheeses being allowed to be sold all over the US?

This is something that each and every one of us needs to remember! The sheriff is sworn to protect from all enemies both foriegn and domestic.
If your county sheriff is up for election (or even if they're not), call and ask him or her about their willingness to make a stand. The Dixon's certainly need to contact their county sheriff.
Please keep in mind that the sheriff still must function within the state constitution. He cannot arrest federal employees unless they are breaking the state law. He can however force state and federal employees to cease and desist if they are abusing the constitution and/or law.

So does this leave them in limbo, having to "comply" with having no business until this is settled. I can't imagine what this is doing to them financially.

Everyone gets one, but Karen Prescott is the one in bed (so to speak) with the corporate producers.
Governor Jay Nixon also needs to get a flood of mail.
BTW, saw your draft and it's INCREDIBLE! WTG, ALICE!

Tres kewl!
Thanks for posting that, Ceresone! Have you posted an opinion there yet?
I'll head over there after I get another bottle of milk into the kids, and try to get that gal of mine to let down (again).

Alice your letter was great!
Pony, thanks for the links, I just sent a letter to Gov. Nixon & will send one to Karen Prescott as well. Although my letter is probly not near as nice as either of yours when it comes to legalities but I'm sure I got my point across.

Lois, I read that page and I sent it to Denise. I think I'll be sharing it with a lot of other people, and talking about it with our sheriff and deputies.

Has anyone looked into filing an iReport story on CNN's website?

If you have an idea to spread the word, it's not necessary to run it past the group. Just do it, and then tell the rest of us, so we can either 1.) do it, too, if it's a numbers game thing, and/or 2.) Give ya a pat on the back.
Reporting on what you've done also gives the rest of us incentive to find other ways to get the word out.
Thanks, Bloogrssgrl!

My only concern about doing it is that I only know bits and pieces of the story - what I've read on the blog and the sporadic times I'm able to check in here. I don't think I know all the details to make a good article. I can try but I thought someone who is more invovled with what is going on might have a better chance at getting a good article written.
Also, I wanted to throw this out there. You might want to suggest to the owners to look into the possibility of joining PASA or at least contacting someone from that organization. Even though it is a Pennsylvania-based association, they are very active in a variety of facets of responsible and sustainable agriculture. They were a driving force in a recent raw milk victory in PA ( http://pasafarming.org/news/pasa-new...5-0bb03bffb1bd) and could probably help with guidance and information at the very least.
A little PSA - Everyone who has any interest in sustainable agriculture would do well to look into joining this organization. There are members from all over the place, not just PA. A basic membership is very affordable and a wise investment considering the amount of work they put into efforts to keep legislation from squashing the small family farm.

"Fascists believe that a nation is an organic community that requires strong leadership, singular collective identity, and the will and ability to commit violence and wage war in order to keep the nation strong.[15] They claim that culture is created by the collective national society and its state, that cultural ideas are what give individuals identity, and thus they reject individualism.[15] Viewing the nation as an integrated collective community, they see pluralism as a dysfunctional aspect of society, and justify a totalitarian state as a means to represent the nation in its entirety."
A lot like communism, dont you think? As such as always wondered why the Nazis hated the Communists so much since they had a lot in common...

You all do realize this mess was entirely the fault of the two famililes in question?
This all could have been avoided had they simply greased the right palms, AKA donating to the reelection campaign fund of certain politicians.
