Yeah, but who wants to go swimming in this cold and yuck?

Yeah, the goofy ducks, but besides THEM who wants to go out in this?

I am the boss and they know it, but that doesn't mean I won't have to prove it all over again tomorrow.
And truly, there's no way we'll ever get the Nubians to stop their singing. It's just their way.

Not that I always LIKE it, but it's their way.

Oh, its not just some Nubians by a long shot.
I once had an Alpine who thought it was her right to carry on long-distance conversations with me from whatever point on the farm she happened to be.
I have a Lamancha now who has figured out the one six inch crack in between the tarp and the barn wall that allows her to see my livingroom window. She talks to me whenever she sees movement.

Mm, well, I didn't mean that, to do it all the time, rather, just let them know and it goes OK usually....

I had to re-read this, then read it again, then check the weather channel site, then.....

NOOoooOOOoooOOOOooo! It's MAY and it is not SUPPOSED to snow!

Then again, this makes me glad that weekend before last, one of the tires went on our tractor and we have had a heck of a time locating a replacement.... therefore, I didn't get that acre planted weekend before last, and therefore I DO NOT have an acre of tender, just-sprouted seedlings out there to freeze tonight....

Maybe it was serendipity that that tire went out. Replacing the seeds would have cost a LOT more.

Bet me that the goats bowl me over for their dinner tonight.

We're not supposed to get snow - but here in the four corners area, we're getting a whole new layer of topsoil, ---- from Utah. It's just like a blizzard - terrible visibility. It's bad!

Hope everyone is ok including you Pony. My goats are only part Nubian and SO much noisier than my friends purebreds. I have to 'creep' to the freezer or the washing line or they will all 'shout' at me.

I'm grateful not to be getting any snow. We've been holding our breath because the orchard bloomed early this year due to the warm temps.

Cowbelle, you're getting DIRT STORMS? Like during the Dust Bowl?

OLF,I have to sneak around, too, just like you and Emily. I am sure that Trub can see the refrigerator light late at night when I'm getting the pitcher of tea.

I tell myself (over and over and over), "It's just her song. It's just her song. Ignore it."

Ha!

My poor starving goats almost dragged my youngest to the ground as he was taking the 5 gallon pig bucket out to feed the pigs. Nearly all the does pushed their heads in it and he was doing his best to hold it up high enough so they couldn't. I had to go grab the bucket before they ate it all. My goats are bigger hogs than my pigs

Their manners need some work!

LOL! Yeah, I get bum-rushed sometimes myself. If I was a little child, I'd be in BIG trouble now that the kids are getting some heft to them.

Little brats... I love 'em, though.

Hope your little guy is alright!

If there is ONE goat behavior that I wish I could change, it's the head in bucket dive.

Ah the head bucket dive. I have broken many a feed scoop on heads and butts getting that to stop. I do not hit them hard it is just cold outside and the scoops were plastic and snap! Now I yell to them "MOVE!" and then all run to the feeding area.

Hmm a dust storm or a snow storm which to choose? Well we have wind but thankfully it is not blowing that much dirt here. I just hoep they are wrong and it is just rain. It is chilly here and it so does not feel like May.

I too sneak around, funny how out goats make us do this My Nubians do not yell much I have a mother and daughter pair of Nigies who are LOUD! My huge Nubian wether moans with every breath as he is laying down sleeping in the goat dirt pit. The other Nubian wether runs around whining at me when he has gotten in trouble for something like going into the chicken pen.
Ahh goats without them lilfe would be soooo boring!

You can't fool us! Emily already told us that Lamanchas can be just as noisy as Nubians.

Oh, man! and you hope that you kept the bucket up high enough that you can quick drop & roll it over their heads! The only way to get it away from those greedies!

I pick the snow storm - at least when the ground is wet I don't get rushed trying to feed - but I left my husband to deal with the tornados & moved to the east coast for a month - much easier to deal with that stuff long distance when touring a Vanderbilt summer cottage..... the servants had better rooms than my children and the ballroom is bigger than my house!

Trying to milk a spooked doe is no fun -- unless you bring PLENTY of grain!

Trub was down a little over a half pound this morning. I don't know if it was the really crummy, scary weather or the neighbor's cows all lined up along the fence trying to keep dry under the trees, but she was NOT a happy girl.

The kids were screaming too, but I think that's b/c they know I have a headache. Have you noticed that multiple kids will synchronize their morning screaming? And sometimes, I could swear they say, "All right: 1,2,3 - YELL!"

A lid on the bucket works wonders, in my experience. You can probably get them at bulk/health food stores.
