Around here in Norhtern Ca, we have a copper defeciency problem... he may need more copper added to his diet. Is it possible he will settle in with the cows?

Countryfolks, Patches looks like such a sweet Grandpa-Goat! Sorry for your loss...that must have been hard to say goodbye to him.

The old Fella Looks Like He Is Happy Where He is and Maybe The people left him there because maybe that is where he was born and he grew up there and they wanted him to live out his finale years on his own turf.......he could easily go for another 3-5 years....he looks healthy ...i suggest if you have purina feed in your area i would get him purina senior horse feed and give him 2 cups of it slowy start it so it won't upset his rumen...i think that would help his coat greatly.....as far a s wanting to put him down the lord will let him know when it is time to go ....... we would like to see more pictures of the sweet getlemen though if you have the time..................

I have good news.

Following the start of this thread I posted Chocolate (that's his name) on Craig's list. There was a pretty good response, and he is now at a new home on acrage with good people. His living quarters were picked up today and he will be sleeping in his same old home at his new place. It sounded like he settled right in and was getting along real good there.

I should have some photos of him at his new digs sent soon - and I will pass them on. And, I was able to pass on this great site to someone new - so hopefully he will post some of these pictures himself.

Thanks everyone for all your insight - it did make a difference on how we approached making our decisions regarding Chocolate and who we chose to send him home with.

Hello All,

A quick update on Chocolate - I received an email from his new caretaker today with some photos and he is doing great!!!

I am shooting an email back to him asking that he upload them here too. Chocolate looks great and seems quite content at his new home.

Im so glad you got a home for him! I was thinking I'd have to offer to take him as a pall for my 9 year old pygmy buck
