Whoops! Forgot to ask: How much milk per feeding? The big bucky boy will suck down 10 oz without batting an eyelash (and very pretty eyelashes they are!), the little red girl (We're thinking of naming her Wee Colleen) drinks less, but she is smaller.

Tired... Trub will have to carry on by herself for a couple more hours...

I bet you are tired!!

cow's milk is fine.. just offer it to everyone.. some will drink more then another will.. (make Wee Colleen gets her fair share.. there is almost always a couple that will end up not *owning* a teat and always second on for a feeding.. I give all kids a bit of BoSe (even with their dams getting BoSe a couple weeks before kidding) I do 1/4 cc's for all the babies (if someone is having a harder time nursing, I give that one 1/2 a cc)...

did I read that you are giving 60cc's at a time of the CMPK? here I would only be giving her 30cc's at this point. What are you feeding mom? Take her feed up slowly and watch her for acidosis (be sure you have a good supply of baking soda on hand)

sounds like you've go it all covered & are doing a great job.. with quads..you & Trubs will be tag-team moms for a long time.. have fun.. take lots of pictures..

susie, mo ozarks

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

I am so happy for you! I just got home and logged on to see if she had them yet. They look great! I really love that picture you posted!

Did you have to re-position the babies or did it straighten itself out during the pushing (the head/ leg together or the butt-first baby)?

I know EXACTLY how tired you are, and I don't expect you to post much, but let us know more details when you are feeling more human.

Trub will be relieved to know that I'm cutting her back to 30cc. So will Nick, as Trub has learned to identify the syringe with the big honkin' needle on it!

She gets alfalfa hay, grains (oats, corn, sweet feed), brome grass hay, free choice minerals and baking soda. I'm switching her over to alfalfa pellets b/c we're almost out of the good alfalfa. She's already been eating a lot (and now we know that she was eating for 5!), but I'm making sure she is satisfied. Poor thing looks like a refugee!

KatieJJ, I am going to have to try a nap again. Maybe then I'll remember everything that happened. Emily (Ozark Jewels) probably remembers better than I, because she was on the phone with me, and decidedly more calm. LOL! I do recall having both my hands where I never thought I'd have them, and the last one being a bit more difficult than the first three, and I remember in which order they came out.

Oh, wait. Second one was butt first.
Other than that, a foggy blank... <tired sigh>

Just got done giving all 4 kids some cow milk mixed with colostrum, graining Trub a bit more, kicking (literally) Beaux away from the stable gate, and hauling water.

If I don't go to bed now, I will drop.

Hold on, DM, hold on!
Cuz she's closer than you think,
And she's standing on the brink,
Hold on!

(yeah, I switched over to Kansas. So? )

Aint it fun when you have someone that remembers more than you do! Nice babies 3 doelings 1 buckling how did you DO that?
One of my girls kept laying around laying around her stall got so bad I finally kicked her out for the day to clean it...she actually had to move and dodge her herdmates but she kidded the next day.

Golly, I am feeling so much more human now!

So far, the names we haven't yet settled on but are pretty much sure of:

Happy Camper (destination: Freezer)
Wee Maeve (red doeling)
Sapphire Jewel (blue roan doeling)
Bright Brigid (the tri-color we're retaining)

Of course, all names are subject to change until I fill out the paperwork for the ADGA.

Aw, Dm and Rose, I was so hopeful to log on here and see that your girls had delivered. Certainly not as much as the two of YOU are hopeful, I'm sure.

{{HUGS}} to you and your gals.

Congrats, Pony and Trub!! That was some phone call, when I got off the phone after the delivery, I was so wound up that I couldn't sleep.LOL!! All parties did a great job. First time I've assisted a birth via cell phone. Really, I was just moral support though, everything would have gone fine with or without me.
Pony, you ought to start a new thread and post individual pics of mama, papa and kids if you get the chance. With their new names of course!!

I am going out to start chores in a short while. I'll bring the camera out and take some pics of the kids, Beaux Tie, and the ever-lovin' Trub.
