I'm sorry Rosie passed. It is hard especially when you try so hard, after caring for them and then losing the battle. These little buggers have a way of stealing your heart.

I recommend you take her for a necropsy, because of the similar deaths in your area. Sometimes they create more questions than answers, but you can find out a lot about your herd, possibly what went wrong with Rosie, and very important for the rest of your herd if what she had was contageous. Armed with this information you can be proactive in preventing this from happening again. Who knows it might just be something like toxins in your feed/pastures.

My state will do a necropsy for free. Liver analysis is optional & extra (under $50.00) but worth it. Your state may have a simlilar problem. You'd have to put her on ice until you drop her off.
