See, I wouldn't mind paying 25/bag if it actually worked. Sweetlix is as best as I could find, but if I can get better...
I just searched on the site and the TSC in Adrian (where I am now, I'm at the boyfriend's house) carries nutrena products. I suppose I could ask them to order me a couple!

I always read your posts Pony, Hahaha!
I never thought about TSC, I don't buy alot there unless I can't get it anywhere else. I have never seen the Onyx Mineral there or anything bu Cargill but haven't checked for the brand by Nutrena either. They must be owned by the same company?
Sorry MyGoat, I forgot to get the bag out & look for the 800 number but will do that this afternoon when I go back down.
I got busy cleaning out the duck house, etc. & I forgot. Really it's old age but I'll blame it on chores!

One of our goats has to take a daily 1/2 gram bute bolus. As long as we cover it with peanut butter he'll take it freely. (We did start him out with a few tastes of pill-free peanut butter first.)
We serve the peanut butter covered bolus on the end of a small carrot stick so we don't get our fingers bitten off.
We've never had a goat refuse a peanut butter covered pill. On rare occasions they might bite into it wrong and get a taste of the pill and spit it out. On those days we give one or two more tastes of pill-free peanut butter on carrot and then serve up the pill the second time - and down it goes.

It is so worth it!
The reason for bolusing is to provide a longer lasting slow feed of copper.
The minerals in an loose mix are designed for daily consumption and break down quickly and do not contribute to liver levels the way the oxide does.
Bolusing is another approach to nutrition entirely. It is so worth it. You don't know how much you need to do it until about a month after you have done it and you will say WOW why didn't I do that always! It really makes a difference in feed conversion as well. Your animals will look better and fare better for many reasons and it is really so worth it. It is no harder than oral wormer which mine hate and fight much more than bolusing. It is always good to have a quality loose mineral available all the time but it does not replace bolusing.

Well I finally remembered to look at the bag & there was no 800 number but the website given on the bag is different than the one listed above by Pony.
It is www.cargillanimalnutrition.com I don't know if that one will be of more help or not since I didn't go on there to see what it said.
I am going to be in Swartz Creek in a couple of weeks, how far is that from you Donna?
I bought the last bag of mineral at my feed store the day I went but he orders 2 at a time for me & then when I get the last one he then orders 2 more. I can see if the 2 new bags are in if Swartz Creek is close enough to you & bring it down with me if you want.

Pony, I did read your post, but took the link one step deeper and posted the page where you put in your location to find a dealer.

I used Right Now Onyx, and it did not replace Bolusing for me. It wasn't enough.

That's the site where I began my search, but I wound up calling the 800 number b/c there were no links on the main site to find dealers.
Nehimama, they have it around here over at the different Gage's mills locations, and it says that Orscheln's in Bethany, but I've never seen it there. (Frankly, the service at the Bethany Orscheln's is kinda hit or miss...)
Hey! Lgslgs! Where ya been?

I am using Manna Pro Goat Minerals because it was the easiest loose mineral for me to get that had chelated copper and copper oxide in addition to the copper sulfate. I still bolus but the goats like the loose mineral just fine. I also feed kelp and leave baking soda out free choice.
