Trim your nails, clean up well and gently feel around. If it is truly the water sac then she needs the kid(s) out. Especially since it ahs been so long.
If it ends up just being fleshy with no fluid then it is probably a prolapse and you need to keep an eye on her. When she does go into labor you need to be there in case she needs assistance.

With it being over a week, it really does sound like a prolapse. I guess there is a little bit of fluid/air behind a prolapse.
Even if it is a prolapse she could be trying to deliver as well.
Shoot. ummm...if you have a cell phone give me a call- (740) 310-6324

Roseanna- thanks for the quick responses. I just went out and checked and it could very well be a prolapse as nothing is showing now. I gloved up and checked her again and her cervix is closed. I felt with my other hand that a little one is alive and kicking inside of her. I'll keep checking through the night and let everyone know the status.

thanks again,
Carson

Carson,
Keep the cell phone number at hand and feel free to call anytime night or day. I keep it with me all the time duing kidding season. Just give me a minute to wake up if you call at night or before 10AM...lol
Have you checked her ligaments? They are a good indicator of when a doe is going into labor. mygoat has a good set of pictures somewhere of that.

If the cervix is closed it is not the water sac

Check her ligaments & keep a good close eye on her. When we first got goats we started with pygmies & never had any kidding issues, we have Nigerians now & those have done fine for us kidding as well.

Congratulations on your Human Kid too! You've got alot going on at your place, Thanks Roseanna is there to help. People are always so helpful & sweet here.

Just wanted to give everyone an update...

Her ligaments are getting very soft and her udder is the size of a softball now. No more prolapse's and she's eating and drinking very well. Did I mention she looks HUGE!! Can't wait to see the little one(s) come out. My 5 year-old is more excited than I. I've got the buck separated from her with welded wire fencing and the two are ok with that for now.

This time I'll take some photos when all is done and said.
Nailed for the time-being is Roseanna's number just in case...

Thanks for the update, I was wondering how she's been doing! Hoping for babies soon & Pictures! We love pictures!
Thank Goodness for Roseanna, she'll be alot of help for you if you need her.

I'd think about getting a little wether for your buck & keep him in a seperate pen after this, then you can breed the doe when you want babies & have a date.
Better yet, maybe if you have a little buckling born you can band him & keep him for wethered friend for the buck. Hopefully you'll have a little buckling & doeling so everyone will get a buddy out of the deal!

Pygmy goat kidding - "water sac disappearing"? - Goats

VERY EXCITING!!! Our little doe delivered very early Thursday morning. My son is hooked! Two males... One just like mamma and the other like our buck. We're very happy and the little guys are eating very well and are very healthy. Mother nature has her ways... Thanks a million to everyone's knowledge and advice.

For those who do not have any experience (like me) with prolapse's... she was prolapsed about 50% of the time the last two days before delivering. I simply kept an eye on her and knew she had them when within two hundred feet of the barn - I could hear them!!
