Congrats! Beautiful goats. Also during the daytime rather than middle of the night YEAH!
F.Y.I. we had 2 does that produced milk as early as 2 months before birthing. We thought we had our dates wrong, then when 1st breeding due date passed, rethought our due date. It became a guessing game. Had one doe that waddled for 3 months because she got so big but was a first timer with twins (lost one due to malpositioned birth -- she was turned sideways). Had several does that their mucus plugs started showing at 2 1/2 months, but didn't have extremely large babies. So far our best sign has been the ligament test. We know our 10 day due date range and start monitoring ligaments prior to that. We also have a baby monitor which helps repeated trips to the barn in the middle of the night. We just go every 2 hours until it gets really close. And even though I become a basket case when I am alone, you do what needs done and then if you want to, you can fall apart afterwards, but afterwards, you don't need to so....
We also had 2 girls went into labor 5 minutes apart while I was at home by myself. One was overdue and one was early. These 2 gals were best friends and had been put into the birthing stall together to wait out their 10 days. When one went into hard labor, the other one just up and started too, with no prior warning, just the goo started and she had to catch up with her BFF. Needless to say, they both had to check out the other's new baby after then got their own babies settled. (Sandra)
