Ummmm, having known a mexican Santeria priestess many years ago- we are #1 in the US for human trafficking of slave wage workers in my TN county, mostly latinos- they DO NOT WASTE THE MEAT. It is cooked and eaten after wards- and while they do things differently, they are not sickos-

More likely someone fed up with their neighbors goat or teenagers who wanted a thrill......

Someone broke into Molly Bunton's barn (Fias Co Farm) and stole Havanna Cooba, who had just kidded. They were almost to the barn to get the guy, but he got back over their fence with the doe. I think the neighbors got a shot off with their shotgun, but they were unable to get her back. Turns out there was a goat stealing ring over in the area where they lived and authorities found field area with many ear tags that had been cut out of the goats' ears.

I'm pretty stout but I can't see lifting a full sized doe over a fence.

Oh, dear! That's dreadful!

@ Fishhead: You're right; it takes a pretty sturdy person to lift a full grown doe. Unless, of course, the doe was a smaller breed, or the fence is a short one.

I don't recall what breed(s) they have at Fias Co Farm, but I do know that they take VERY good care of their livestock.
