My vet has prescribed twice a day on occasion and sometimes at a slightly increased dose. Just be careful with it because it can cause ulcers.

Everyone
first off..bucko is doing great today.Yesterday morning I had to milk moma to make sure she didnt get engorged..which tells me he wasn't nursing much. After a night with momma.and a vit b complex shot, .this morning she is very emptied. He is butting her bag asking for more:>)
he is nibbling grass and is actually able to run on 3 legs now. I still have him mostly confined to a x pen during the day ...but this is to just ensure his safety. I encourge him to move about as I recall that helps with scrotal swelling on colts? He now drinks water from a bowl and is peeing good. As soon as my camera battery charges I will send some pictures.
I have not given banamine and think as long as he is moving and eating I will wait. I should have had it to give the first day tho, but think now the risk outweighs the benefit? he is acting great!thanks all .lori

I am 7 miles from the Canadian border near International Falls. When I lived on the Rainy River that seperates Canada from Minn I used to say I lived North of everyone but Canada. LOL Thought of tying it to a farm name but it seems that the "north" name is used up by everyone south of me...except some in the True North, Canada and Alaska.
Where were you?

daxx yankees? Whats that? :>)

My boss had a ewe that got caught in a wire fence and they ended up amputating a rear leg right at the hip. She lived a long and productive life with no problems having and rearing plenty of lambs. Now my boss has a wicked sense of humor and when folk see the three legged sheep and ask why...well she says, "We only eat a little bit at a time."

I know how hard it is when you fight so hard to save them and they just don't make it anyway. I'm so so sorry for your pain.

I don't like this ending at all. I was so happy to see his pictures and thought it was a happy ending. Makes me sad and I didn't even know him. I'm sorry.
