The nly reliable source of B12 is from animals. And vegans that just go out and buy something with B12 in it are buying something made from animals that could have been treated (by their standards) very very poorly. Therefore they want a source of B12 from somewhere that they know animals are treated well. Along with all the other good nutrients from raw goat milk

There's a definition problem here. A vegan would NOT drink goat milk.
Vegan - a strict vegetarian; someone who eats no animal or dairy products at all

I like it how you are fighting the truth. The Vegans DO want to buy my milk--sorry but it's true no matter how much you fight it!

Bricheze, Someone might be willing to buy your milk, however they are NOT VEGAN. This is from the Merriam Webster Dictionary:
vegan
One entry found.
Main Entry: veg·an
Function: noun
Etymology: by contraction from vegetarian
Date: 1944
: a strict vegetarian who consumes no animal food or dairy products ; also : one who abstains from using animal products (as leather)

I am a former English teacher and speech communication teacher. Words mean things, dear Brichese. Just because people use the wrong word does not mean what they say is the truth.

No one is telling you that these "vegans" do not want to buy your goat milk. But that either they used the wrong word to describe themselves, or they simply do not know what vegan really means. Ok, so they do not eat meat. But they are not "vegans", because true "vegans" do not drink milk or eat milk productions.

I know what the difference between a vegeterian and a vegan is, but they are vegans. Other then the goat milk which they need to stay healthy, they are pure vegan.

Really... there is no true vegans then, because they all must be taking a B12 supplement--that has to come from animals.

These "vegans" can call themselves anything they want, but if they are consuming any dairy products then they are actually lacto vegetarians. If they also consume eggs in addition to dairy products they would be lacto-ovo vegetarians. (I am a 3rd generation lacto-ovo vegetarian, raising a 4th)

Industrial production of B12 is through fermentation of selected microorganisms. Streptomyces griseus, a bacterium once thought to be a yeast, was the commercial source of vitamin B12 for many years. The species Pseudomonas denitrificans and Propionibacterium shermanii are more commonly used today.
|
As you can see, commercial supplements are not produced from animal products, unless you consider microorganisms to be animal.

Well then true vegans are nt healthy people. I have a friend who is a vegan... and she says her entire family are vegans, and even though they eat very healthy food, they all get much more sickly then usual as they age... think it's just bloodlines, but I think it's B12 I'm sorry, humans were made to consume animals, it's just not healthy to be unnatural and not do it.

It sounds to me like these people are Vegan, but considering the change to lacto-vegetarian because of the availability of goats milk from truly humanely treated animals. If their vegan lifestyle is chosen in response to the lack of non-meat animal products from trustworthy humane sources, I can see where they are willing to let go of their own label for the sake of healthy nutritious food. So they very well could be vegans *now*, until they start using the goats milk at which point they will have an issue with their label.
I would be vegetarian myself, but I can't due to health reasons (anemia) - I have to eat not just animal products, but meat, supplements just don't cut it. I can sympathize with their choice. It's a main factor for me wanting to raise my own food animals and choosing this particular lifestyle myself.

I have been following this--are these people that you know? I would be very suspicious of someone I didn't know that proclaimed themselves to be vegan to want milk, but not really vegan. If I have anyone want milk here, I make sure they know that I sell for pets only. they can come see how I milk, but I have to post signs that say this is for pet only. If you have followed your states laws as far as raw milk is concened, you wouldn't have a problem, but I would wonder.........
