Yes, I never knew they each had unique personalities until I got my own. I love it!

Welcome, Beckbeck! At a guess, I'd bet that neither Hannah OR Montana (luv those names, btw) are Pygmies. They aren't blocky like Pygmies. People tend to call any small goat a Pygmy. They look more like Nigerian Dwarf or a cross - MiniWhatevers. They are cute, and look nice and sleek. Have you considered taking off those horns?

I love the personalities of goats, too - like having a cross between a dog and a toddler - love to be with you and can get themselves into trouble the minute you turn your back, lol. I think of them as dogs that give me milk!

Just me, but I don't think of de-horning goats after they are a few weeks old. Disbudding kids, yes, but de-horning hasn't worked for me at all. Banding the horns with elastrator bands has not been successful for me and my goats.

Just my opinion, based on a few goats and some bad experiences.

When I got my first 3, Dolly, Jack, and Jumper. Jack and Jumper were only 1 week old, I knew nothing and still only know little about disbudding.
Now you've mentioned dehorning..LOL
Really I have yet to be hurt even in the slightest by one of them. I have never gotten hit or anything, I guess thats a good thing.
As for disbudding, is there pros and cons to have it done? I don't know anyone here where I live that does it, and I don't think I have the heart to do it myself. Is it really as awful as it sounds?

It's awful for about two minutes. After that, it's wonderful. No horns, no problems.

I don't like de-horning either. Disbudding I highly recomend. I just disbudded my first 3 myself today! (I used to watch my dad do it, and out 4Hleader showed me how a couple weeks ago.)
Cute pict. I like the one with the white face. I see oberhasli in Montana and I see togg / alpine in Hanna. who knows or really cares, they are cute.
