Do you do both at the same time? The reason I ask is the water may be washing the glycerin out. The anus and rectum need to be lubricated so she can push the poop out. IF you have any non antibacterial soap you can add a few drops to the water. The soap will act as an irritant and a lubricant. IF the soapy water doesn't get her going you can use mineral oil. If she doesn't poop within 20 minutes give her another enema. The poop will absorb the water that gets left in the rectum and hopefully soften things up.

For bloat you can add 1/2 tsp baking soda to a little water and syringe it into her mouth. You can also add it to her milk the next time shes fed.

The bloat can happen because things are going in 1 end and not coming out the other. The milk has no where to go because things are so plugged up. We gave 5 mineral oil enemas in an hour before we got one of our bottle babies unplugged. She had gotten really cold and could not nurse. After we warmed her up she started taking the bottle but then the other end didn't work. We went from one extreme to the other but now we have a very healthy month old 12lb baby doeling. We started out with a very sick 6 hour cold baby.

I don't think the baking soda or mineral oil would hurt. After talking to another goat friend, she described bloat as belly is tight, which hers is not, so I guess that means it is not frothy bloat. I do not have mineral oil.
She described similar with kids she had last year, turned out they had e-coli.

UPDATE: I gave her another 1/2 cc Boimyacin. (7:30pm) She had pooped again from the previous enema.
(I pop the supository back in if it comes out. --- Poo is like firm dog poo)

OK since you are giving her antibiotics you will need to give pro bios or yogurt to keep the good bacteria in the stomach. As long as shes pooping its a good sign.

When I heard sloshing in my bottle baby, it was bloat. I gave her bloat release twice and she got better very fast. When I was asking about it, one lady told me to take a string and put it across her tongue like a bit in a horses mouth- as she chewed to spit it out, it was supposed to release the gas. I have never had to try it.
But it does worry me that she has such problems continuously- the bloat just may be a sympton of other problems. She is just not digesting properly. I think I read you are feeding her Mom's milk right?

What is the babies temp now? A baby can not absorb milk if the temp is low.

This from Tennessee meat goats:

Your doing an amazing job.....I would have given up long ago. I appreciate the love and compassion you are showing for this animal. You'll know when its time to stop and let nature take its course one way or the other.

She needs to keep her temperature up. Do you having any electric blankets or pads? If so I would keep her on them.

If you don't you'll need to keep rotating towels or better yet rice into the microwave or oven or clothes dryer. If she can handle these drops in temperature she must be a fighter so if you can keep her temp up I'd say she's got a chance.

Also once you get her warm if she makes any attempt to move encourage her. Movement will help her pass things through her gut as someone said.

Hang in there!

UPDATE:
time to stop.
the towels didn't really help.

She is gone.

The questions I come away with are:

Can simethicone - infant gas drops, or Gas-X (all same drug) be used for bloat?

Would it have gone better if I had used the pedilyte instead of teh milk more times. (milk really being a solid, may have added to the back-up. maybe teh pedialyte would have given her the goods whils being a "clear-liquid-diet" - like when a person is in the hospital.)

I understand and I'm sorry. However if she makes it to her next tubing heat the pedilyte to 110 degrees. This will help warm her from the inside. It also may help to make her more comfortable. From what you have typed on her symptoms and condition, I don't thinkshe has ecoli. Its my thinking that shes just gotten too cold and can not digest food for energy. If she doesn't make it I want you to realize you have done more than most ever would.

One of the mane things you have to do is have her temp up before she is tubed. She needs to have a normal baody temp to have food in her, she can not digest it if she is chilled.

I took a sock, filled it with rice ans put it in the microwave to heat it up. Take towels and warm them in the dryer, keep rotating them and keep them pretty hot.

Try mixing 2cc karo Syrup, 2 cc Whiskey and 2cc of coffee. Mix and give her about 2cc to start.

She is trying to hard on or she would of left you a long time ago. You have pulled her this far, try to keep going.

You should be commended for your efforts! Also know that even though you lost her, you helped many of us "uneducated" goat people so if this happens to us we will remember this thread. Sorry for your loss
