Roseanna,

Do you still come down to KS occasionally and where in KS do you come? Next question - do you have many possibilities for a purebred polled buckling?

I want! I want! I want! Dairy goats are hard to come by round here & polled animals are even more difficult to obtain!

I second the brag on Roseanna's soaps. I have a whole box-full that I am carting around in my car ... the car smells GREAT and I just can't bring myself to take it in. lol

I haven't been out to visit Tracey in almost two years now. It was an annual trip but things got in the way. I will hopefully be making a trip this year. Unfortunately, the only Purebred Nubians I have right now are my bucks. This may change at some point. Assuming Karen can track down the papers I have two American Nubian does. One of them is Polled and she is the one I was going to retain a son out of this year.
Tracey lives in Holton, KS, in NE Kansas.

Here is an update. Jacobea will finally allow her foster kid (Leda's white buck) to nurse without needing one of us there to make sure she doesn't bite him. She hasn't bonded with him completely yet, but I hope with time she will. For now they remain in a bonding pen.

There are only two people from this Board I haven't heard from and they are

I will be sending soap out after the last four does have kidded and my sleep schedule is back to semi-normal.
Thankfully, with the does fresh I am getting goat's milk again to freeze and then soap with. Elegance is giving me 4-5 pounds on top of what her buckling is taking. Leda is giving me 3-4 pounds on top of what her two kids are taking and Kaili (whose twin bucks we lost during the -12 degree temps) is giving me some milk as well. This means I can soap again as I had run out of milk a few months ago.

I milked Genevieve after I force weaned her buck kid at 3+ months old. She did quite well. Her production was not huge at that point, but I hadn't milked her with her kid on her, just left her to raise her boy (who ended up as a herd sire for another farm in Ohio).
Elegance is a dream to milk. Such a good producer too. She would make more if I would milk her twice a day.
The kids she had are full siblings to Shiloh and Genevieve. The polled doeling is available for sale since I have Genevieve. I won't cry if she doesn't sell though. lol
I love that dam line!
