I think you'd better get her to the vet - this is a life-threatening situation for both the kids and the doe. Paying the after-hours fee is better than losing them all. Just think - Christmas kids.

you will need small hands but it can be done. If you can meet the vet do it if you feel you cant do it on your own

Do you know what she was bred to as in full size goat or Pygmy? Pygmies are notorious for birthing problems - those blocky heads lead to dystocia - and if she was accidentally bred to a full size goat, that can lead to more problems, especially if it's a single kid. I've delivered some difficult tangles of kids, but had to take our pygmy doe to the vet for a c-section after an oops breeding resulted in a huge singleton. That doe now lives at a friend's house - no more Pygmies here.
As long as she's been straining, there is definitely a problem - better your first kidding attended by a vet on Christmas, than a bad outcome.

I've dealt with prolapses, and this does not appear to be it. I've had a doe deliver with no problem after a grapefruit sized prolapse (after delivery the prolapse went away).

I agree 200%. She has been at this a long time and with the shivering and lethargy... I don't think you can afford to wait till morning to take her in. If you can't go in and get the kids out yourself right now, you may lose them all.

No more then 20 hard pushes without me going in to check the doe. I would lube up and feel for everything, can you find where the leg meets body? I am very worried for this doe, get her to a vet now.
Patty.

hhmmm, 5 below zero in my corner of the state, I think I'd be hoping she would hold off until, say maybe, April! But I'd still go with the reindeer names LOL!

I think you need to cut your nails really short, lube your hand with vegetable oil if if you don't have lubricant, and gently go in and see if you can help deliver the kid or kids, which may be gone by now. The picture looks like she may be prolapsing, or pushing out the vagina with all the straining of not being able to deliver the kid. This is way too long for her to be in active labor. Please consider trying to help her if you cannot reach your vet or someone else locally who has goats and can help. At this point, you can't make it any worse.
If you locate the kid, feel around for the feet, and cup them one at a time, gently bringing them forward. See that the head is also pointing that way, and when she pushes, pull out and downward with her contraction. If the first one is blocking the birth canal, any others will not be able to get out, either and all will be lost. Let us know how it works out, and good luck. I'm pm-ing you my cell phone number if you need instructions as you go, feel fre to call me.

called the vet and he walked me thru the reaching in process, c-section is a little out of my monatery reach at the moment 350.00 bucks is hard to come by with jobs so precarious at the moment. got the first one out it was dead, about the size of a rabbit i let her rest and went out this morning and found a smaller one about the size of a kitten, they most defiantaly were dead for a while so i'm guessing it had something to do with the kinda of feed we were giving her, the guy who gave them to me said he had them on brush only with some grain and i've been feeding them grain with hay i'll take pics of the still born babes, but they aren't a pretty sight was wishing for a happier christmas morning, the other female i got is also preggers i am now guessing kinda big just like she was, so if it was the hay i'm guessing hers will be still born as well
i want to thank you all for all of your help, i would have been sooo lost last night
