I don't give AC(ammonium Chloride) to my doe's and I disagree with Chaty, Your male goats should get it EVERY SINGLE DAY. If you ever had a male get stones or UC you'll know what I mean. it is miserable for them. It is much easier & better to do it DAILY to keep them from getting them rather than wait till there's a problem & hope you can save there life!
Also Minelson, I also go by the Fias Co. farm's website dosage & I do believe it says 1 teaspoon for each 150 pounds of goat, of course this is for the precautionary measure.I'm going back & re-read it again.

Confusion abounds. I did find the AC so I'll have everything I need to make the little medicine balls for my wethers; however, the lady from the feed store talked to her supplier today and he told her the medicated food I purchased has something in it for cocci and the urinary issue.....why would it have AC if it is for bucks, wethers and does? I'm confused. Should I go ahead and make the balls too or will I be giving them too much?

As always, thank you!

It should be listed on the ingredient list of the feed bag if it's in the feed.

Powderhooves, I would look at the ingredient list before buying & personally I have never seen medicated food that has AC(ammonium Chloride) in it and I wouldn't buy the medicated food to feed to my animals all the time. It's like taking medicine all year when you don't need it.
I would make up Minelsons medicated balls & give them everyday.

For the sake of adding my 2 cents into the discussion, my wether was one of the ones that was extensively helped by this site. He was on the verge of being put down 2 times because of this uc. I will not let him go a day without the ac. I mixed up some ahead of time using the fiasco farms site and pour the liquid on some bread and then sprinkle with sugar. The 2 wethers we have love it.

I agree with backfourty, if you have ever had a wether with this you would not hesitate to give him this. Listening to my little guy scream in pain was so horrible. I just wanted to die because I was the reason he was in the pain. He is a mobil vacuum system and I didn't know about the ac. Never again.
