Storey books has a book titled "Raising Dairy Goats" that is good and Pat Colby has a book titled "Natural Goat Care" which I hear is very good if you want to go more natural. I don't know about the fence issue because my goats are in 4 ft. livestock fence. And my horse was not crazy about my goats, but he was an old man who had never been with goats before. Usually, goats and horses get along quite well, but always keep an eye on them when you first put them together.
