Wow thanks everyone! She is adorable unfortunately I haven't had any time to play with her yet. After I we found her the other night, a quick visit yesterday morning to get pics, and a brief check this morning that is all I have had time for. I have a 12hr exam over the course of two day today and tomorrow...so technically we're down to 8hrs left now and of course the time change makes it hard to see anything when I get home from work anyways. So Sunday I am not going to let her go!*lol*

KimM: Yes please add it, I'll get you some more too

BethW: Howdy neighbor! She is absolutely a doll, she came running over to the fence this morning kicking up her heels. She is going to be a bundle of trouble but she really is one of the prettiest things I have ever seen so all will be forgiven*lol*

Callieslamb: Her color is interesting, I did some looking into it and I really can't find a description for it. I would assume she will mature to be red, but this is a striking color on its own. She has her mom's frosted ears too, that is all the white on both of them.

Powderhooves: Well mom is a Nubian though not registered that we know of. She was aquired at an auction from the lady we bought her from, so she could have something else in her too somewhere along the line. She is a small Nubian, but has all the characteristics of one. No telling who the daddy is, according to gestation she would of been bred sometime in July and she wasn't bought by the other lady until August, and she had a string of goats of all varieties so we knew we wouldn't know what we were getting if she was bred by one of her goats. Right now the little goatling (not officially named yet) looks Nubian to me. No spots, no black, no dorsal or leg marks, ears are definitely Nubian! She is just that solid reddish/blonde color with frosted ears so maybe daddy was a Nubian too? I don't know I look to the experts here for that. I think we'll know in a few weeks as she grows either way! This works well because next year we'll have two does to breed to Juan!

Somewhere I heard that color described as Strawberry Roan. Not a bad name, either.

I think you should call her "Ruby" the newby (get it?)

I know I am not a goat person, but sometimes I peer through the stall doors to see what ya'll got in there.
She is so very, very sweet faced! She is not even mine and I just love her!
And for some reason, when I look at her, the word "Twinkle" comes to mind.
Congratulations!
