I think you'll be surprised how easy it really is.

With four mature LGD's and usually a litter of growing puppies, I haven't been able to get enough raw to do a steady raw diet. Some parts of the year I can do totally raw(butchering time, when we butcher a beef, etc), but then I run out and have to fall back on bagged dogfood. So instead of that yo-yo diet I do mostly raw with some bagged food at all times.
And truly I am so satisfied with the Diamond dogfood that I have always fed that I haven't been forced into all raw yet. I will say though that its becoming more and more likely since the price of the maintenence dogfood has gone up $7.00 a bag since I first started using it.

Actually I was doing that three years ago. I had a colony of rabbits that lived outside my goat pen in their own fenced in area. It worked really well.....but I ended it because of the time and room involved that I needed for my goat herd.
I may do it again when things are more settled.........more settled, yeah right.lol!

colony raising is the easyes and least time consumeing way lol, thats what i do, my colony shaires the chicken run and has their burrows under the chicken coop, it looks like a mars landing under there lol,

shoot for that matter you could secure your kid pen or some other relatively small pen you have for your goats and put them in there, they would eat the hay and any grain they get too before the goats lol, and any other greens you can throw over,

I didn't read every post so maybe someone said this...but don't feed weight bearing beef bones. They can and very likely will eventually break a tooth. Only feed w/ supervision, w/ alot of meat on the bone, and with a gentle chewer.

As for the raw w/ kibble, I guess it is working for you, but be careful because the reason raw is safe for dogs is because it is digested and used so quickly. Kibble takes longer and can hold up the raw meat, allowing harmful bacteria to grow. I think it is great that you are even trying raw! I hope this doesn't sound condescending, I just thought you should know

Well, when we butcher a beef the butcher gives us back the meaty bones in
3"-12" pieces. We have fed these to our dogs since I was a child.

Good thing I butchered when I did......Jill just blessed me with 11 Pyrenees pups.
