My vet recommended ivermectin even though she is small and young. He's a very good vet and raises goats and sheep himself.

Hopefully you got to her in time. If she was "sitting down more instead of walking" thats a bad sign. Get her that wormer as fast as possible. Once she has been wormed try to get an iron supplement in her as well as some vitamin B complex.

There is really no way to "worm slowly". either you give the animal enough of a dose to kill all the worms (hopefully) or you end up giving them just enough to kill off the ones that aren't resistant leaving them to reproduce and populate the goat with worms that are potentially even more resistant. True, that evacuation of large numbers of worms can cause serious problems but in that case the parasites themselves are likely to kill the goat. When people blame deaths on the wormers They are just trying to displace the blame. the solution to this is to not get that high of a worm burden of course, not worm to create resistance. wanted to point htat out so people don't try and "worm slowly"

If this baby hasn't been in much with adults it seems unlikely to have a large parasite burden. bottle jaw is soft. pale lids mean anemia though so start looking into possible reasons for that. mineral deficiency? what are you feeding? replacer or milk? does she have a temp??

Can a wattle cyst get that big? It would certainly be hard.

I've been away from the computer all weekend. Well we decided to shave the area in question and found two small bit marks on her. I don't know what they're from but from the looks of things it would have been a mouse. We've drained the infection and it's 1/5 the size it was before. Tomorrow, my vet opens again and I'll be taking her to him. Even though all this has been going on, she's acting pretty normal. I'm assuming that I'll get an anitbiotic for her. What does the vet nornally give goats?

That's good news that you were able to drain it. The antibiotics will depend on the bacteria.
