Last kidding season we did country music - Willie and Nelson; Billy, Ray, and Cyrus; Montgomery and Gentry; Patsy and Reba; etc. This year - since we were out of town - the daughter decided to to a "J" theme - Jackson, Josie, and Jacob; Jay and Julie; Jazzy, Jolene, and Jody; Jack and Jill. We've got one more doe due in the near future - that's good cause I'm running out of J's!

we have:
Penelope (Lope, for short)-she came with the name of Prima Donna and she had the temperament for it too. But now, she's alittle humbled down. heh.
Raindrop Splash (Rain) she has a raindrop of white on the top of her head.
Volcan- after Star Trek, the tv show. He has little brown 'eyebrows' that makes him look like them in the show. (we call him Bucky boy, sometimes.)

ones we had:
Gardinia (Gardi)-she came with that name, though she was called Valerie Gardinia
Mara-book & Rerun-Linus and Lucy's brother (Charlie Brown)
Donkey-he was adorable and that was immediately came to my mind
Cow Boy- His coloring looked like a cow.
Kearn-book, Illaria-book, Trenna-book, Bandit-looked like it, he had two black patches over his eyes.

Those are the ones that have come across our path! not sure what we'll name this coming year's kids. . most likely after more books, or it depends what they look like. .

Thanks,
Bluemountankid

When my first goats were babies they looked like aliens so we named them...
Sigourney
Weaver (Sigourney's brother)
Ripley

Sigourney had triplets and we stayed with the alien theme (kinda)
Newt
Ash
Flipley (couldn't remember any more names from the movie)

She had quads last year but there was no theme
Otis
Bob
Dopey (because he was at first)
Tiny (she was SOO tiny)

Katrina (previous owner named her) had triplets in 2006 so we stuck with hurricanes that struck the gulf coast where my in-laws live
Camille
Dennis
Rita

Katrina had triplets in 2005 on March 15 (Ides of March)
Brutus
Ceasar
Portia

Ripley had triplets on March 17 (St. Patricks Day)
Patrick
Colleen (Irish name and my sisters name)
Shannon (Irish and my sister-in-laws name)

Ripley had quads doelings the next year on Good Friday but died on Easter. We had a hard time coming up with names for them so just called them
Winter
Spring
Summer
Fall
They all looked exactly alike

Wink Names and other comments

Nancy in GA
the other 3 are still Blue, Red, and Green. We've tried other names but they just don't seem to stick.
We had a Gorgeous long haired black cat years ago and we called him "Blackie". I wasn't very happy about it but nothing else fit! LOL

mmurrey
hamburger & meatloaf( that are freezer destined).
We raised a calf last year and my son said we should have named him "Sir Loin". Now I am trying to think up a good a name for any calf I might get this year

Reicheru
PITA- abbreviation... Pain In The A... guess how she got that name. I call her Pete all the time.
"PITA- abbreviation... Pain In The A" That is Great - I will have to remember that one!

Windsong acres
that's good cause I'm running out of J's!
You can use my name - Jeanette!
There is also Jael, Jelly, Joreen, Jenner, etc.

My Nigerian buckling is named Prints and my doe is named Sarah Jane. My son and I used to watch a show called Bravestar. One of the characters in there was a horse who was a deputy named 30-30 and he called his rifle Sarah Jane.
This was a fun thread!

I try to use old-fashioned sounding names for many of my goats:

Harley (my original buck, now deceased)....one of my grandpa's was named Harley.

Jodie,
Baby, (now deceased after having twins....her twins are:
Johnny and Maddie.

Stormie (because he was born during a thunderstorm, to Jodie and Harley.
Sally (her twin Hailey died).

I have a new pygymy doe who arrived with a cute female kid and no names the last week in May.

I named her "Daisy" and her sweet little girl "Josie."

Well Daisy was BRED back way too soon when I got her, but she had HEALTHY kids August 28th which I named Gus and Gracie!
