What exactly are antifloxins?

A couple of days ago my dairy doe completely stopped eating her grain mix, also. Dry cob, boss, calf manna, aloe juice and olive oil. I've tried giving her each item separately, but she won't touch any of it. She'll nibble a few alfalfa pellets, but not many.

The first morning she was acting a bit ill, kind of trembly with her tail down. She'll eat plenty of pasture and hay, though, and doesn't act ill today...but won't touch her grain. Did she get poisoned?

Cjean, I hope someone responds who knows...

Today I divided up the grain into separate piles in their feeder to see which they're refusing (so I could go get more to replace it, etc). Turns out, they each will eat the oats, BOSS, and corn, and won't touch the alfalfa pellets. So, a new bag of pellets it is.

They still won't eat it if it's all mixed up though - weird.

Aflatoxin is a member of the aspergillus fungus and is highly carcinogenic, causes birth defects, and severe liver damage. growing on corn and other grains during high humidity.

I dunno what brand the alfalfa pellets are - just from the local mill. They LOOK ok and taste OK to me, but since they're the ones who have to eat 'em... Thank goodness I've got a new bag! Hopefully they'll like this one.

I use to buy my grain at TSC and about every 5th bag or so my goats would decide not to eat it, now these are goats that I think will eat just about anything & they wouldn't touch it. TSC was always good about taking it back but after doing that a few times I quit buying my feed there. Now I mix my own & they love it. Sometimes I think it's where the food is made & I don't think we can always tell if somethings moldy or not. So far I've not had any of the same problems like before but if I do I put it out for the wild critters in there feeders.
