Ouch! And I thought we had it bad. So glad I don't have diesel anything. My father and older brother are truck drivers though. They go all across the country. I'm sure they are SOOOO glad the company pays for the gas. Yicks!

Exclamation Yicks!

Just learned tonight that gas in town today is up to $4.11. It was only $4.03 last night. Yicks!

And diesel is $5.09. It will be interesting to see how far up it actually goes.

Gas In CT. Is $4.05, We Pay $5.00 For Diesel!! We just saw it tonight at $5.19 at the gas stations near the highway!! $50 to fill our truck up!!! ouch! Heck I can't believe it costs $75 to fill my mini van...
I agree, lets drill in our country.
Here is a theory a ran into:
That Exxon and mobile are now one comPANY, AND IF WE BOYCOTT THEM, THEY ARE MORE INCLINED TO LOWER THEIR Prices, Which may cause the others to lower there prices as well.
But to get everyone to do that is nearly impossible...?

It is $4.09 here Southern NY.
I do not think drilling in the US is the answer only a bandaid. The people selling the expensive oil will just have more expensive oil to sell. There is no reason for them to charge less. They are in business to make money. Think of it this way, you sell widgets for a living. Every one wants one and has become dependent on your widget. Will you charge less for it or will you keep asking for more money if those folks are willing to pay it.
I think the government needs to make some very serious decisions. We need to start the process of an alternative fuel. A biodiesel of some sort, cars and infrastructure are already built for it. Corn is not the answer but I know there is something out there that is easy to grow, cheap to turn into fuel and ecofriendly. Look at Brazil. They have turned their waste product of sugarcane into fuel and are 99% independent in that aspect.

I traded in my gas truck for a diesel truck the beginning of last year when diesel was actually quite a bit cheaper....seemed like a good idea at the time

They're going up almost daily, it seems.

Unfortunately, we're addicted to the good life... and oil makes our lives easy. Cheap oil made our lives easiest... expensive oil will allow us to still live, if we have enough money...

We can't drill our way out of this problem... no matter how much we drill, the price will remain the same. Personally I'm glad we haven't exhausted all of our supplies while the price was cheap...

Oil industry profit levels are not excessive... >10%... It's just we use so much...

Boycotting is a waste of time... Any savings we (Americans) achieve is just going to be sucked up by China/India. We are not alone in the world... a lot of the world is just getting their first cars... and the high prices for fuel means nothing... they have no memory of cheap fuel.

Economics is a cruel mistress....

$3.99/gallon in central Wisconsin for regular unleaded and we just paid $4.75/gallon today for our F250 diesel truck, $106 and it wasn't even quite empty. I was gonna tell DH to only put $50 in as we only use it for "special occasions" now, as in when we need the box or need to pull the horse trailer, but I figured the next time we'd fill it up the price would just be a lot more. May as well buy it while it's "cheap"!

Just ridiculous.

I win, I win...or lose, as the case may be. At our local casino (fewer/no taxes, so cheapest gas in town) gas was 4.35 a gallon yesterday, up .25 in time for the Memorial Day weekend...and that still was the cheapest around. Diesel is up over 5.00 a gallon. I am hearing from folks in our Central Valley (San Joaquin) that people are stealing red diesel from farm tanks that aren't guarded, and blackmarketing it. We are in dire straits! I HATE motorcycles and yet I'm seriously thinking about getting an old fart one (three wheeler) to save gas for my commute into work each day (19.5 miles each way) 'cause I don't think we're going to get any cheaper.

$4.19 for regular yesterday, up .20 from Friday am.

Getting too expensive to mow my lawn, so I guess I'll get a couple goats
