Dona, I just checked out your blog. I was so sad to read your post, and then I saw their pictures and my eyes welled up. There's no doubt how much you loved these girls, and there's no doubt that you did the right thing.

I'm so sorry

Ok Donna you got me to cry. I can't imagine what I would do if I found out one of my girls was CAE positive. Hugggggs

I'm so sorry, Donna - I know how hard it is to go through this.

I couldn't do it, you are definitely very strong! It was the right decision though and you should feel good knowing you were able to cary it through! I checked out your blog, I love your lambar/cooler idea! Might have to try that

Years ago now we had to put down a dog, my daughters dog, not for old age but because she was attacking the other animals on the farm and attacked the garbage man. We couldn't take the risk she would attack one of the children or neighbors children. I tried everything to find her a home but of course you have to put dogs like this down (she was always a big baby to our own family). I was the one that did it, no one else was here (I had a vet come out to the house to put her down), and I cried for two weeks. I took her on a "final" walk, took pictures, then put her down. I also "knew" it was the right thing, the only option, but it didn't make it easier for me either. You are very right, sometimes the "right" thing is the hardest option of them all. Hugs to you.
