She's still not doing well at all. The scours have stopped but she still won't eat ANYTHING. She did drink some water this morning. I got some yogurt down her gullet (kind of) and gave some to the baby too.

She just seems so depressed and just isn't being herself. Her fever was also back up this morning.

I have seen my goats get scours from feed changes - but never anything like this - I don't know what's going on....

Meleahbee- What was the doe's temperature? You said she has a fever? Maybe she needs another dose of that antibiotic? Call your vet to let her know she's not better. She may advise you over the phone so you won't have to see the vet again. Your goat may have a vaginal infection. Do you know if when she kidded, did she need assistance? If she was entered, bacteria could've gotten inside her. You need to address her fever and the only way is with a vet's help and antibiotics. Best of luck to you.

Goats need more than one dose of antibiotics. They have a fast metabolism and usually need 5-10 days of antibiotics. When I mentioned offering grass hay, I didn't mean for the entire length of her lactation. I feed my does alfalfa hay, but keep some grass hay on hand for if they aren't feeling well. If they go off feed, they will sometimes nibble on grass hay and that is better than them not eating at all. I'm really surprised the vet didn't ultrasound your doe when you took her in if he was concerned about a uterine problem. If she has a retained kid or placenta, waiting untill next week could kill her. Try stealing a cud from another goat. I have the feeling her rumen isn't working properly. This could help her to start eating again. Is the baby getting enough to eat?
