She cheated a little by jumping on a resting bench (that also had a barrier on it) then jumping at an angle over. Sometimes the does will jump it after the kids are born but this was the first time I had one who was actively in labor do it. FF, probably confused.
Now she runs from me because I had to drag her around so much.

That's still an amazing feat to me. I have one yearling who will 'cheat' and jump into the hay feeder and then over the cattle panel right next to it, but have never had any other does do it even when not pregnant. She must be incredibly nimble to do that while not only pregnant, but in labor. haha

Couple of pictures. The first one is day old kids from a premee bottle baby that couldn't walk for the first two days of her life. Yes, I did say they were a DAY old. They are bigger then the firstborns'.

I was able to get two full nights of sleep before the seventh one lost her plug. She refused to kid n front of me so I left her for 20 minutes. Actually, I cut it short and went to see her in 15 and it was a good thing I did. The sack was still over his face.

The short of it, mouth to mouth (yuck, yuck, yuck) tube fed and he's up and alive today.

Went in looking for another because she was soooo big but it was only the one. He is very leggy, like a horse foal.

I am having a problem with my one doe. She is so in love with her doeling that she doesn't want the buckling. He came out almost an hour later so she bonded with the one and is tolerating the other less and less. (He's the spotted one in the picture) If he turns into a bottle baby, there is no way he will be someone's dinner. Sooo, I'm thinking Harness Goat. Never had one of them before. Anyone know a good site?

One left to go.

my mom trained goats to a cart when I was little. She started out with leading, then moved to the homemade harness similar to a dogs harness and just hooked her up to the cart with me in it and led her around. After she was used to being led while pulling the cart we began to rein train her... me in the cart, mom at the head. Pretty much like training the horses, but smaller, easier, faster. I think we had the goats trained in a few weeks.
