now you could bring a fecal to your vet and have him confirm your findings

In the winter, you will not see the eggs of haemonchus (barber pole worm). They go dormant and stop laying since the larvae will not be able to thrive outside. So he could have haemonchus and it not show in a fecal.

That being said, in Ontario - I don't know if you guys even HAVE a haemonchus issue.

What is "lozenge" shaped? Oval? Round? Cocci are round, not really egg-shaped.

when you see Cocci they are not single they are two Os together that is why the vets call them oo cyst
Hope he is doing better
have you checked for mayge a impacted Cud That would also stop him eating and drinking.
is he cuding
if not try and get some cud from one of the other goats and give to him it is also good for adding the microbs back to the gut
just my 2 cents

Only us goat people could get all 'het up' looking at poo under a microscope! ^^ haha. Husbandguy asked what I wanted for an anniversary present and I said a better fecal kit! He just shook his head and said 'gosh love, that's romantic!' :P I told him I wasn't PLANNING to use it on his 'produce' unless he started being really sarcastic to me.

Hope Coco is on the mend!

I'm trying out my new fecal analyzer kit that I bought myself for Christmas.
LOL I'm sorry, but that was funny.

City gal: "I got a new scarf, mittens, and a nice sweater for Christmas, just what I wanted. What did you get, pooks?"

Pooks: "I got just what I wanted too.....a fecal analyzer kit."

delirium: "What, you got a fecal kit? Right on! All I got was a gold necklace from Tiffany's, what a bummer."

LOL

Glad to hear your goatie is doing better!

Rectangular, with rounded corners.

He's not cudding, because he's not eating. I've been giving him electrolyte solution (that the vet gave me) via pop bottle with a lamb nipple (with the hole enlarged). I've added some vit B powder (horse stuff) and he's getting probiotics every day.

Tonight, I actually saw him drinking on his own, and showing some interest in hay, although not actually eating it yet. He looks brighter and more interested in his surroundings. He was standing in front of the hayrack when the two bucklings were eating, and several times, he's been lying down with them, in different places. He does get up and move around, and will look around when he hears the goats next door "talking".

He's not out of the woods yet, but I'm feeling more optimistic.

Yay, pooks! I'm glad he's on the mend!

This may sound weird, but what if you wet some alfalfa pellets into mush and tried hand feeding him some?

I'd be trampled by his room-mates! The Saanen/Alpine buckling thinks that he should get a bottle of electrolytes too.

It was funny when the vet was here - that buckling is known as "Elvis" because of his pompadour hairstyle, and he was being a pain, so I told him "Elvis, get lost". The vet's reply was "Elvis! Leave the building!"

This morning, he had his feet up on the wall, looking into the next pen, and he was actually nibbling at a stem or two of hay, so he is feeling much better. Looked more like his perky self. He's still not eating normally, but at least he's interested. He felt worse after I gave him his meds and his electrolytes, but I guess his stomach is still sore.
