dosthouhavemilk - waiting to hear news!!!

I've been checking on here all day to see if Jane has kidded yet, I'm so anxious to hear!
I'm sure you've been up to your ears in work so I'm trying to be patient BUT let me know asap!!! ;)

dosthouhavemilk 12/24/07 08:45 AM

Nada.
Jane has not kidded, Twyla has not kidded and Nibbles only gets up once a day when I force her to at this stage and spends half her time sitting like a dog trying to take some pressure off.
Our family celebration is this evening 6PM......my guess is a number, if not all three, will kid while I am in Belmont (15 minutes away). *sigh*
I did have a question. Does Jane sack up before kidding or does she sack up while in labor? She just started filling her udder less than a week ago and still didn't have much milk in her udder even yesterday on her due date.
No worries, you will know shortly after I know when she kids. I spend about five minutes or so on the computer while I wait for colostrum to thaw for new bottle babies to update our website with new kids.

I want to see a pic of Nibbles sitting on her fanny. :)

dosthouhavemilk 12/24/07 03:11 PM

She has sat up taller than this but I did not get a shot of that.
Dad says she was up and moving around this morning, so I am not as worried about MF with her as I was. It is still a concern though.

Now I'm waiting and watching too. That picture is something else!

KimM 12/24/07 07:30 PM

Jane's udder didn't fill clear up or get tight until she's having them or right after. That's one thing I thought was odd (in my limited experience), I would look at her udder and say, ehh, not quite yet, but she will goo like no tomorrow VERY shortly before. Some of mine don't goo at all beforehand.
(think spotted does, spotted does, spotted does!) :D

KimM 12/26/07 10:05 AM

Anything yet?? We have to run to Zanesville but I'll be checking back all day. (Come on Jane!)

dosthouhavemilk 12/26/07 10:11 AM

Not Jane and not Nibbles.
Twyla delivered twin bucks yesterday around 3PM.
I expect Nibbles to kid today around 2PM, but do not expect Jane to kid for another few days yet. She just is not there yet.
I'm starting wonder if maybe she isn't due until mid-January instead. I would rather her be due then because she would have been bred by Rudy instead...lol More chance for spots.

I don't know about Jane...she isn't very big and her teats are still wrinkly...just not much there. She is pregnant and pretty far along. I have no question about that, I'm just starting wonder if we don't have a couple more weeks yet.

lol

Start thinking about what day would work for you and Adam to come over and assist with disbudding. Twyla's boys were born with horns...lol My doelings will be a week old Friday and I may go ahead and do them myself and wait until there are a few more to have y'all over.
There are still 6 does left to kid by the end of this month so there will be plenty to chose from...lol

Here is a picture of Jane yesterday morning;

Twyla delivered twin bucks on Christmas day and Nibbles delivered triplet doelings last night around 9PM.

Minelson 12/27/07 12:00 PM

Did everything go ok with Nibbles?

HilltopDaisy 12/27/07 12:06 PM

Cool, congrats on the triplet doelings!!

dosthouhavemilk 12/27/07 12:45 PM

Nibbles did just fine. She was up and walking around for a few hours before her delivery and delivered all three while standing. Didn't lay down for any of it. The second doeling arrive with one front leg back and that was a little tougher for Nibbles, but she was a champ.
Her udder is *huge* compared to what we are used to. I will have to keep her milked out.
Here are number three and number one

Darling! Congrats and big hug for Nibbles!!!

goatiegurl*Oh 12/27/07 01:56 PM

Cute! :) Congratulations.

KimM 12/27/07 09:47 PM

What pretty little babies!!! How am I ever going to come out there and come back empty handed? Huh??

dosthouhavemilk 12/28/07 12:17 AM

I will be surprised if you manage it...especially if Jane delivers a doeling later today...there better be two kids in that doe! We will be dissapointed if she only delivers a singleton... Good sized head though...it was sticking out on her side this evening.
I doubt she will last another 24 hours at this rate. Her ligaments are going and she is nesting more.

Jyllie63 12/28/07 05:45 AM

They are adorable Roseanna!

KimM 12/28/07 08:06 AM

As far as I know she's always had twins. It sounds like she's close!! GO JANE GO!!!

dosthouhavemilk 12/28/07 02:11 PM

Jane delivered a single buck around 2PM.
More later..

Never say, "never" or "always".
Well I bet he's a cutie. :)

dosthouhavemilk 12/28/07 05:01 PM

I checked Jane this morning and noted her udder was filling more and that her ligaments were softening. No doubt she would kid today. I had hoped I could get by with a trip to the mall. I was delayed some because I took a cousin along with me.
Dad called around 2PM while I was getting ready to check out.
He said he had been showing my other cousin the goat babies and did one last check on Jane and there was a large hoof sticking out.
Apparently she never made a sound and did not appear to be in labor. He said he wouldn't have said she was in labor except for that hoof sticking out. We were a 20 minute drive away not taking into consideration the check out line....lol
So, I missed the birth. lol I was off by two hours again.
He's a beauty. I wish he were registered purebred.
I was not horribly surprsied she delivered a singleton. She just never really felt like twins. I'm disappointed, especially since she is incredibly healthy. I can't figure out why she only delivered one...hopefully next year we get our spotted doe for you...and maybe one for me..lol

Roseanna, they both look so nice! I have never seen a kid that color before! I also wish he was a fully papered buck! Ohio wouldn't be to far!! I will need one this coming fall if I keep any does :)

KimM 12/28/07 05:42 PM

Awwww! He's so pretty!! I can't wait to come see them both. :)
I don't know if ya got my PM or not but I gotta run, my dad isn't doing so hot, may have to run him to Zanesville or Akron tonight. Prayers needed!

Blossomgapfarm 12/28/07 07:28 PM

Very cute! Congrats on all the kids. Maybe next year you will get the spots! Thanks for posting the pics - sure makes me wish for babies!

white eagle 12/28/07 11:05 PM

Congrats on the new baby Jane had. I had a doe that suppose to have twins an she had one little doeling. Sometimes they can trick you.
