I checked Jane this morning and noted her udder was filling more and that her ligaments were softening. No doubt she would kid today. I had hoped I could get by with a trip to the mall. I was delayed some because I took a cousin along with me.
Dad called around 2PM while I was getting ready to check out.
He said he had been showing my other cousin the goat babies and did one last check on Jane and there was a large hoof sticking out.
Apparently she never made a sound and did not appear to be in labor. He said he wouldn't have said she was in labor except for that hoof sticking out. We were a 20 minute drive away not taking into consideration the check out line....lol
So, I missed the birth. lol I was off by two hours again.
He's a beauty. I wish he were registered purebred.
I was not horribly surprsied she delivered a singleton. She just never really felt like twins. I'm disappointed, especially since she is incredibly healthy. I can't figure out why she only delivered one...hopefully next year we get our spotted doe for you...and maybe one for me..lol
