My buck is totally descented. The only smell he has is from peeing on himself. You can get right down on his head and scratch around where his horns would have been and there is no odor at all. I don't have acres of land to "hide" a buck on, so I will only keep a descented buck. However, I feel like descenting them causes them to take slightly longer to "mature" reproductively. The are capable, but don't seem to understand what to do for a couple of extra months.
