We went today and got dewormer, I will give it in the morning. They have been on electrolytes yesterday all day, and this has many vitamins and minerals as well as electrolytes.

I agree that impulse buys with animals are not a good thing. She does, however, have somewhere to keep them, just not where she is staying right now-it is a long story. I will not go into the sordid details.

She did the right thing today, and got the dewormer. She also said she will pick up green hay so I can free feed that rather than trying to keep up cutting my own. We let the goats out tonight to graze for 15 minutes, and tomorrow I actually will have much more time and can let them all out for quite a while. Today was my 12 hour day, so I was pretty slim on time.

Funny you mention raspberry leaves, because we had a small plant next to the barn growing as a weed, and those three adults were shoving and pushing to get at that one poor bramble! I will have to remember where all the bushes are on the property and let them have at it.

The little guy is still coughing, is there anything else I can do for him other than antibiotics?

I am glad to hear she is doing the right thing. You are a good friend and a good person for helping her out

Have you taken the temperature of the kid who is coughing? A goat's temperature should be between 101.5 and 103. If he does not have a fever, he doesn't need antibotics. I sometimes give kids children's cold medicine for coughs or snots without fever. If he's running a fever, he needs either Nuflor or Excenel, which you have to get form a vet. These are antibiotics. They are necessary if the goat has pneumonia but should not be given to a goat with no fever who is eating OK.
