I have had alot of the same issues you are having. She does not need to be a bottle baby she can be a "bowl baby" as long as she eats. She will not die from drinking that little either.
My girl is a boer or boer cross. I got her when she was 2 weeks old and never really took to the bottle. She would drink 4 to 6 oz three times a day and that was really trying and pushing her to drink it. As soon as I put it in a bowl she went up to 8 oz , then 10 and etc.
She would also eat some grain, pellets, hay and grazed.
The first week I had her she was literally up my butt. I could not leave her sight or she would scream. Then I got her a friend and he helped her. But she still was not use to her surroundings and was not very lively for the first two weeks.
Worm her. Put her with others her age, let your son be there for feedings at least. Give her the Di-Methox in water. The other goat babies can drink it as well since it treats cocci and it won't hurt them to have it. 1/2 teaspoon of the powder in 1 gallon of water for the next 10 days. Feed her 3 times a day warmed to the temp you would give a human kid.
Good Luck with her. They really can test you, wonder why they call them kids!

i wish i could post a pic but I can only use my computer at work my one at home got hit by lightning but she will only drink 8 oz a time, and wont even try if offered between feedings... i offer 10oz ( i use a baby bottle to measure so i know how much she eats) and i always end up feeding 2 oz to the puppy. Our vet is not "goat smart" and to say the least doesn't care for goats.. I am willing to spend whatever it takes... my son fell in love with her! i am giving her actually goats milk fresh every time and she usually drinks all that she want in one drink i usually give her about 30 mins and then feed the rest to the dog. I saw some tubes at tsc for doing that i'm not sure how to go about it but maybe i can find something to teach me..

thought--- if i take away the lamb starter and hay would that make her drink more milk? cause right now milk is better for her right? would that help or hinder her?

I'm not familiar with lamb starter, but she needs to be eating hay as well as drinking milk. My friend lost a Boer doe who had two young kids. She could not get the kids on a bottle so she fed them hay and Milk Plus pellets. If this were my kid, I'd continue feeding her as much milk as she will drink from a bowl as well as try to get her to nurse either a bottle or one of your Alpine does. Give her free access to hay and feed her a handful of Milk Plus pellets a day. Be sure she has access to water. According to my vet, goatlings that young do not have worms. If you treat her for cocci, don't put it in her milk. It will taste bad and you are already having enough problems getting her to drink milk. We want this to be a good experience for her. I give liquid sulfa 1cc per 5# the first day and 1 cc per 10# for 4 more days, orally with a syringe. I'd also give her a shot of B complex and 1/2cc of BoSe, as well as probios.

I don't think goatkid meant the "first day" of life but rather the first day of a 5 day treatment.

I start my cocci preventative at 19 days old. I do a 5 day treatment of DiMethox 40% at 1 cc per 10 lbs on day 1 and then .05cc per 10 lbs the next 4 days. I put it in their bottles if bottle-babies or snow cone syrup in a syringe and squirt it in thier mouths if not a bottle-baby.

Twenty one days after this, i start the routine again, over and over. My kids are 4-5 months old and I am still doing this.

thanks guys, with all your advise i can give her the best possible chance. I really think she might pull thru, she seems a little more lively each day... slowly but enough i can tell. and she did eat 10 oz last night... only 8 oz in the a.m. though...

Emilea, that's great. Keep getting the milk down her, well, you know to do that already. But you have us all hooked now and we are invested in your baby. Please keep us updated as we really want her to pull through. We KNOW you are doing everything you can.
