I followed the first thread and now to read this. I am sorry you and your goatie have to go through all this trouble. I sure hope you have had some healthy babies by now.
I also agree two hours waiting and waiting for loud cries is not the best method to go by.
We had to go in before and we did not wait 2 hours.
PLEASE let us know what is going on.
Will be thinking of you

Thanks for the hugs. I'm a farm girl and used to having animals live and die. I feel sorry for the doe, she will be missing her baby. I was worried, but now that it's over, I'm fine with it, it was meant to be. I'm still waiting to see if there is another one in there. I tried bouncing her and I didn't feel anything, but it's the first time I've been a midwife so I might have missed one if it's in there.

I'm sorry. Was hoping for a better outcome. But I would like to know if it presented properly or if you had to intervene. I learn alot of others experiences.

There was a hoof first, then the head, one hoof was folded back. The kid was huge. We had to pull it and it took hours to get it out. Lots of oil and lots of pulling. I was on the phone several times for advice. I was afraid I would hurt the doe.

I've come to the conclusion that the kid was way to big for her to have a normal delivery. I think the kid was probably alive the other night when she went into labor. If I knew then what I know now, I would have pulled the kid that night. I think the kid was stuck at the beginning of the birth canal and suffocated.

This has been a learning experience. If it happens again, I will not hesitate to go in and pull the kid.

Thank you for sharing that. It really does help to learn from your own and others experiences as well.

You did your best and should acknowledge that.
