We still don't know what the rash on her mouth is, but I believe it is orf. They just won't confirm it. The State Vet was in today and looked at her and confirmed it's nothing reportable, so that was good news.

She did develop pneumonia, I don't know why, except that she won't eat on her own.

We'll have her on antibiotics for a bit...

Bit of a relapse this morning. Took her back and left her again. I'm thinking she might have developed bloat from all the tube feeding. She still won't nurse. Maybe when she's ready, we can try to pan feed her. But I'm afraid right now to call the vet for an update. She was floppy and limp again and when I carried her in, she started to poop, then it becamse diarrhea and was all over the place, including me.

She's one tough cookie! She's hanging in there. Back on IV liquids and antibiotic. They emptied her tummy too. I'm still thinking bloat. What next? Pink eye?

She's stopped breathing a couple of times, but she's still hanging in there. They agree with the bloat theory and did "decompress" her. I'm hoping the dextrose and antibiotics get her up and running again. Heck, if I have to keep her on an IV at home, I will!

Thanks everyone...

....meanwhile, my son (he's 23, but mentally challenged) just called me at work with a kid screaming in the background and told me "somebody had a baby, but I don't know who". Luckily, DH is on his way home with a half day off. Hopefully he'll be able to tell and get that colostrum into that kid!

Been reading this and sure hope Hannah gets through this.My Willow had a really rough time at first, too.Don't believe our vet thought she'd make it , but she did.He did all sorts of things for her, then sent her home and we 'doctored" her.Still are -she lost prt of her foot. It's healing , but slowly.Have a pop bottle 'guard" and sock on it to protect it.Good luck with your Hannah- I'll be sayings prayers for her, too.Send us a picture of her when you can.-Hugs! Hannah is still alive, but no change. Not doing well at all. Maybe just more time. I keep hoping.

Now JarJar doesn't seem to know it's her baby. So DH has thawed and heated some colostrum for it (I don't even know if it's a boy or a girl yet).

I'm getting very, very tired....

Well, she was a tough little girl, but last night we lost her. I'm a bit sad today...
There are about 6 does in my barn that look ready to pop any minute. Maybe I'll get another little "Hannah" to ease the sadness.

Ahhh Ruth, I am so sorry to hear that! Ya'll did all you could do.
I know there won't be one to take her place, but maybe there will be one that can fill the void a bit.
