I have been told that if you want to see what a buck will give you to look at his dam. We own his dam and she is a gem, super sweet, and super nice. The only thing that beat her in the showring last year was her twin sister and Kelton's dam had higher LA scores than her twin so I figure it is just that she is handicapped by our less experienced handling.

Congrats on your first Kelton kids!

Thanks LeeAnne, his kids are so improved over last years kids by a different buck structurally...I can see a difference even at this young age. He has added pizazz! They have his face too. We have 2 more does, maybe 3 bred to him (Gennie, my "Holstein" colored doe is at day 155 today...if she goes much over, than there was a fence jumping incident or something and she is bred to Kelton and NOT the Boer that I put her in with for a one day date. The Boer was way back at the big barn and Kelton was next door...only time will tell. That Kelton may turn out to be quite the scoundrel. Actually I am hoping that Gennie IS bred to Kelton, I changed my mind after I bred her to the Boer!

Gennie, several weeks ago:

Hope you'll post the pics of Gennie's kids too, it'll be interesting to see what coloring they get for sure. Some great looking goats!

She has pretty kids.

She is not purebred...you can see that Nubian neck carriage! Gennie is 1/2 LaMancha, 1/4 Nubian and 1/4 Boer. Because of the Boer in her, her doelings are not eligible to be recorded with the ADGA. She is a very good producer of meat kids and is a nice family-type milker...and she is QUIET! Got to love her!
