I am hoping for the best with you...hard to go through all that and have a negative outcome...but at least the doe seems healthy. That's a plus.

Vet finally got here at 7:50 am. He said he felt a foot way up in her but it wasn't positioned correctly and he feels no movement so he doesn't think it is alive. He took her with him and is doing a C-section & give her fluids.

I'm so sad & can't stop crying. He said he could be surprised but didn't want me to get my hopes up. He said he has several surgeries this morning and will call me about 10:30.

Not good. Baby is dead. They still haven't done the C section yet because she isn't in pain and they have examined her and know the baby is dead. They had two horse emergencies & promised me that she is next. When I went by she had one hoof out and it was HUGE. They said they had never felt such a large baby in a goat her size. The hoof was almost as large as her hoof. She was bred to a very small half LaMancha, half Nubian so I don't know what happened.

I'm a little upset because she is an emergency too, but they say she isn't at risk & will take care of her soon. She still seems as happy as can be and doesn't know what is going on. She has her own room at the vets office.

I'm just glad she isn't in pain. My heart is broken!

I am so sorry about the baby. WEll in my opinion she is an emergecy if a hoof is out and nothing else. Sorry Alot of times over feeding leads to big babies and then they cant have them. The last 2 weeks of pregnancy we feed our does only 1/2 c of grain twice a day, with free choice hay. They are nubians and we had to learn this the hard way. You dont over feed late in gestation or it just goes straight to the baby.
