Bless you for trying to help - hopefully maybe the lady in question will realize she needs a lot more info before trying again.
I too don't understand folks that start out with livestock with no proper training or supplies. We only have chickens for now (we rent and can't have goats here) but lordy - we read and researched for *3 years* before we even got our first little batch of 10 chicks. We have raised them to adulthood well and they're hale and hearty, and as soon as dh finishes building our big new chicken house we'll be ordering a batch of 25. We LOVE goats and just cannot wait to have our own someday but we know we still have a lot to learn! We have friends with a big herd of goats and sheep and we have gone and practiced milking, helped catch goats out of the herd to get sale pictures, etc. and asked a million questions. We know we need that experience. Our philosophy is we won't bring an animal home unless we know without a doubt we have the knowledge and the supplies to give it the best care possible. I wish more people would just do a bit of reading before they start out.
