Oh they are so cute, much different than the goats I have. I guess most of yall on here have milk or meat goats, I just couldn't see having a goat that I raise, be eaten (bawling) no no can't do it. I know for some is a living but no thanks. I have mine for adoption (sale) what ever ya call it but they are mostly just pygmys and some mix.
I just wanted to let you know that I like your building or barn the one to the right of the tree, there. Nice place ya got there.
Thanks for sharing is always nice to see animal pictures, I think!!

GoldenWood Farm 01/15/07 01:42 PM

Thanks goatlover270. Yep I just love that old barn :) . Makes it so cozy and nice feeling during kidding season. Used to be a old dairy barn I am guessing or some sort of cow barn. It is nice as it has all cement floors :) :) . I will have to get some pictures of the inside sometime when the kidding pens are set up and everything.

What is that green stuff on the ground? Grass? I would have to dig out about 2 feet of snow to see our ground.
Nice goats. I love the old barn also. They are do neaat.

tiergarten-CO 01/15/07 02:58 PM

only ywo feet. your lucky

prairiecomforts 01/15/07 03:04 PM

Nice looking girls! I almost couldn't believe you actually have GREEN grass! We didn't have green grass at all this year! Just brown grass that looked just awful! We are really hoping for more snow and rain! Everything is so dry.

GoldenWood Farm 01/15/07 03:10 PM

Oh believe me we have only had green grass for maybe a month or so? Before it was DRY or dead....now it is FREEZING out. Well 33 degrees...but still cold. No snow though  . Just frozen ground.

Where are you located at? I have 15 foot drifts all over the place, but only like 2 feet on the level. It just blows around.

Idahoe 01/15/07 04:22 PM

Toshanah reminds me of my doe Naomi a LOT, who has a long strip of angora along her back and a longish coat in general. It curls when damp, too. We had a sudden downpour during the hottest part of the summer, and she looked part poodle for about a week after :D .

I envy your green grass and 33 degrees. It's up to 12 F here today, the highest it's been in a week or so. My ND buck looks like a little cotton ball . . . I can't wait for warm weather to shave him down.

If you have telephoto function on your camera, your goats will look hilarious from a front angle.

Hi Mother Clucker,

I like your old barn also. I was just wondering what part of Oregon you are in? We are in the Willamette Valley. Just thought I would say HI to another Oregonian. How do you like the freezing weather?

I hail from Canby/Molalla area (well...close to portland :) ). Idahoe I swear that toshanah is bigger in the belly that those pictures show :p . Promise! As far as green grass I REALLY need to reseed their area.

Don't the kids put on the pounds and size in the last month or so, like human kids?

wildhorse 01/16/07 05:02 PM

MotherClucker Thats a nice looking group of ladys in waiting.Looks like your going to have a busy kidding season.

GoldenWood Farm 01/16/07 09:26 PM

Idahoe yes the kids grow the most in the last month. So these gals will get even BIGGER :help: . I think I will need to wheelbarrow them around by the end :help:  :p .

LOL! Yep I shall be BUSY...I am thinking that Willow who is a first freshener might even have triplets her first time as she is getting pretty big for being 2 months away  .

Ahhh, MotherClucker, just like everyone else, I love your barn and envy that green grass! Here everything is just boot sucking MUD!!!! Yuck!!! Tonight it will freeze tho, 31* when I came home from work at 9:30PM.

GoldenWood Farm 01/16/07 09:57 PM

Wellllllll......the area right infront of the barn door was a couple inches of think MUCK! And the buck pen a big part of it was muck also  . So don't let the green grass fool you....we are also waste deep in muck :nono: . Right now everything is freezing though. It to is 31 degrees here.....has been in the low 20's though.
