What did the vet say was wrong with the goat. I'm like to know.
Sorry to hear the goat is sick. Gosh I hate when a goat gets sick it worries a person to death at times.

Allwolf, you have always been so kind and concerning. It was really nice of you to go out of your way to post the possibilities and treatments for them. You have gone out of your way, more than a few times, I think there should be more people like you, instead of ones that find the energy to criticize the poster. Maybe they should ask questions instead of "blasting" them for not putting information that maybe perhaps they didn't think of at the time they were posting. I agree on what someone else said about when we are thinking about the animals, we sometimes get upset and in a hurry and perhaps forget our mind. I know that I have done that from time to time, when it comes to one of mine. boy I have been known,as a friend would say, to just loose it sometimes. I.E. I know that when there is a nanny in delivery and can't get them out, I have to take control and go in and get them.
There are many instances, but we just have to take note that not everyone is the same and if we were this world would be a boring place. Just try not to be so critical on others and offer a shoulder in times like this and ask questions, instead of criticizing.
If there were more caring people in this world, we wouldn't have war!
God Bless!

one thing we all probably would wonder too would be, How are the babies doing?? Are they getting milk?? Nursing or bottle???
How is progress on the nanny???? I would hope that there would be some options that could be taken other than just putting her down, so quickly???
Please, let us know.
I know that in our area a vet is hard to find, coming to post sometimes is quicker and easier to try to work on own. Using a vet that doesn' really do a good job or doesn't know what they are doing...yea right...I had rather be using a board like this...maybe others may know what i mean.

thank you

the babies are going to be bottle fed o replacement. I have one of the babies, it is 4 days old not. I have not been able to get ahold of Judy to find out what the vet said or did. I hope that she was able to save the goat I have asked many about goat vets and they laugh. As a matter of fact when I got isabell yesterday, the vet who saw her was a dog vet and looked up the temps for a goat, etc... I was grateful she even looked at isabell and checked for cocci and is giving her an antibiotic for a low grade fever. Thank you for your thoughts...God Bless

When you do get a hold of the friend, tell us what happened. Glad the babies are in good hands .

Uh, those good hands will be full now with a bottle baby.

Wink feeding supplement?

Have you been able to get your hands on some cows milk?? If not, how about some whole vit. d milk heated to 102 degrees?? It is better than the supplement and I even had to use it with my lil one,not but for a day or so, but it is the best alternative than using the supplement, I found. I think I could be safe to say that many here would recommend that as well. Anyone, feel free to correct me if I am wrong on that.... it was also cheaper and healthier for the baby.
By the way, did yall try techniques to try and save the nanny? Does the friend know about their goat? We really didn't get full information on that, is why I was just curious to know, it just seems senseless to put down a goat if things could be tried to save her. I just have feelings for her.
