sorry about the loss of your little sweetie. Time does help, but you'll always remember her.

I am so sorry for your loss. It is so heartbreaking to lose one; especially when you don't know why.

One thing from one of your posts has me concerned:

Quote:
Her best pal was the alpine wether and he is the size of a very small pony. I can sit on him and my toes barely touch the ground. He is a BIG boy.
Do you put your weight on him when you sit on him? He could suffer severe spinal damage and die - goats aren't designed to bear weight on their backs.
Please don't take offense, I just would hate to see you lose another.

Of course not! I just stand on my tip toes and scratch him all over his shoulders, I do not actually sit down on him. Goodness, I think I would squash him like a bug (lol) I am not offended at all, I am sure it sounded like I was "riding" him. This is just something we have always done since he was a little squirt. Please trust me, he is no danger at all, although if he gets any taller we will not be able to do this but I think he is done growing.

Sounds like the way I give my boys scritchings, too. They love it and, fortunately for me, they are nigies, so won't get too tall for me to do that.

I loved the picture of your little doeling, such a pretty thing. I am so sorry.

I too am sorry for your loss. Odd though, that we can feel such a loss for a female goat, but then some can turn around and raise up a little male for food. I feel attached to my little female, I enjoy going out and rubbing her behind those long ears and chin, but had no problems eating her brother. Also, I would like to mention, try not to be too judgemental against your husband or others who don't show much emotion, sometimes it's a way of dealing with it. Sorry again...
